You'll find iconic Detroit music and architecture themed t-shirts, tank tops, hoodies, hats, socks, even shirts and sweatshirts printed on real Detroit manhole covers - all while so

aking up the good vibes from thousands of mineral specimens. WDG also serves as Cyberoptix's flagship tie and scarf retailer. Based on Gratiot Avenue for nearly 18 years, in October of 2021, the studio finally moved to one much larger combined workshop and retail store adjacent to Vintage Eastern Market. All of the printed ties, garments, mugs, hats and jewelry are made right in house - you can see everything being made on site as you shop; the print and jewelry workshops are located in the rear of the retail store - large open windows allow you to watch the creative process happening! While about 80% of the items are WDG's own house brand, you can also explore a revolving, curated collection of sunglasses, candles, incense, handmade soaps, journals, home accessories and other sassy gifts from esteemed designers and artisans from around the world.

BTS electroforming a cholla cactus bones pendant! TLDR; it ain’t a fast process. Sections were in the electrolytic bath for over a week then a resist applied so other parts would plate heavier and more evenly across the whole piece. Electricity is lazy! ⚡️🥱

More soon when we go to chasing and polishing and patina.

Usually I don’t like working in bright copper, but this is a bespoke special piece at the request of a client and I think it really works with the total insanity of the inclusions in the Shangaan Amethyst! 💎

This smoky amethyst peppered with flakes of blood red hematite is only found exclusively in the Chibuku Mine on the Gezani Communal Land in southwestern Zimbabwe.

Shangaan Amethysts are one of the few truly, ethically mined (not just greenwashed) minerals whose extraction is enforced by strict eco-restoration guidelines. Profits directly support the local community rather than corporate entities, fair wages are ensured, and specimens are hand dug with no industrial machinery, blasting, or chemicals.

Getting some of the first picks of this rare material is part of why I spend the entire first quarter around the gem shows every year!

Known worldwide for it’s Saturday Market — we’re the longest-continually-operating farmer’s market in the US, afterall — but did you know that there are lots of Eastern Market businesses that are open days OTHER than Saturday with permanent storefronts on the surrounding blocks? Like us! 😅

We’re open 7 days, but usually only ‘til 6pm — this special Wednesday evening event gives nighttime visitors the opportunity to visit shops and restaurants that are normally only open daywalker hours.

Experience the Market District’s very best bars, restaurants, and boutiques all with special curated pop-up happenings all in one, relaxed-yet-compact strolling market.
