Who would start a company – a ukulele company, no less – during a pandemic? A lover of music, of Detroit, of having fun, and of things that are…different. Someone whose daughter and sister both enjoy playing ukes. And someone who, with her regular business shut down due to Covid, was looking for a cool way to generate a few bucks with a unique concept. Oddly enough, the creator of Detroit Ukulele

Co., Whitney McClellan-Stone, doesn’t even play ukulele. But, she does know music -- as evidenced by the success of her main venture, 2 Stones Events – and the joy it can bring. Blend that with her simple-yet-elegant design aesthetic and it’s a winner.
