I stayed up late yesterday because I was determined to finish a block! This new line from Lynne Hagmeier of Kansas Troubles Quilters will arrive in the shop next spring. Yes, we really do plan and order that far ahead! I was lucky to get early release yardage at Modavation so our sample will be ready when the fabric ships. This is a classic red and cream collection. I love lines with color palettes that are timeless because they are perfect for an heirloom quilt. It can be handed down from generation to generation and will never go out of style.

The highlight of my day at Modavation yesterday was learning to hand piece from a master. Jen Kingwell travelled from Australia to teach us this wonderful skill. I can’t wait to share the knowledge with you!

Super excited to be headed for Dallas this morning to a Moda Fabrics shop owner event. I’ll get to spend some time learning from the lovely and talented Jen Kingwell!

The quilt behind us is called Trentham. We will have kits when the fabric arrives in July. The second image is Jen’s latest collection and it is what we will likely be working with at this event. I’ve always wanted to try hand piecing and I’m thrilled to learn from a master!
