TRAINFEST 2026 — WE'VE GOT OUR BOOTH LOCATION!

The official Trainfest floor plan is out, and we're happy to share where you'll find ReSourced Rails at our biggest show of the year.

Find us in Section 204, Booths A–D and K–N, where we'll have a substantial amount of space filled with all things trains. We're packing an extra-large truck for this one, and we're making good use of every inch.

We'll be bringing a huge selection of N, HO, and O scale models, including brass locomotives and rolling stock, plastic models, and plenty more. You'll also find books, DCC decoders, tools, parts, decals, and modeling supplies, along with some fun train-adjacent items such as diecast cars, plastic model kits, and railroadiana.

Trainfest is being held in the southern half of the Baird Center this year, so the show entrance has changed from previous years. We've highlighted the entrance and our booth location on the attached floor plan to help you find your way.

🚂 Sneak Peek: This Week’s Brass Drop — Logging Locomotive Edition!

We're heading into the woods this week with an all-HO scale Brass Drop featuring a great assortment of logging locomotives and some unusual pieces from the early days of brass importing.

Friday's lineup includes Shays, Climaxes, Heislers, and even a Dunkirk, with models from Pacific Fast Mail, Northwest Short Line, Model Engineering Works, and more. We've also mixed in a few surprises from other railroads.

⭐ This week's standouts are some truly vintage Pacific Fast Mail models dating back to the 1950s!

These early brass imports represent a fascinating chapter in the hobby's history, and we don't often see a group like this come through the shop together.

Whether you're a logging railroad enthusiast or a collector of vintage brass, there's plenty to explore this Friday.

WE'RE BRINGING A FULL TRUCKLOAD TO Trainfest 2026!

Our biggest show of the year is just around the corner, and we're pulling out all the stops for Trainfest 2026, November 7–8 at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Trainfest is one of the largest model railroad shows in the country, bringing together thousands of enthusiasts, manufacturers, dealers, and exhibitors for a weekend celebrating all things trains. If you've never attended, this is one show that's well worth the trip.

And we're bringing quite a bit along for the occasion.

In fact, we've reserved an extra-large truck to haul everything we're planning to bring. Our selection will include:

🚂 N, HO, and O scale models, including a huge assortment of brass locomotives and rolling stock, plastic models, and more.

Books, DCC decoders, tools, parts, decals, and modeling supplies for your next project.

Diecast cars, plastic model kits, and railroadiana, along with plenty of other train-related treasures you might not expect to find at our tables.

Whether you're a serious brass collector, an active modeler, or simply someone who enjoys trains and their history, we're hoping to have a little something for everyone.

Office Closed Friday | On the Road Again

Another week, another train show!

Our Des Plaines office will be closed this Friday, October 23rd, as we’re heading east to visit the TCA Train Fair in York, Pennsylvania.

We won’t be setting up as vendors this time around. Instead, we’re taking the opportunity to explore the show, catch up with friends in the hobby, and see what possibilities might be in store for ReSourced Rails at future events.

Our website remains open for business, and orders will be processed when we return. Responses to phone calls, emails, and messages may be delayed while we’re away.

If you’re attending the show and happen to spot us wandering the aisles, be sure to say hello. We’re always happy to talk trains.

Who knows? Maybe we’ll be back with a booth of our own someday. -Matt

🚂 Sneak Peek: This Week’s Brass Drop — Colorado Narrow Gauge Edition!

Fresh off our trip to Durango, Colorado, and the Colorado RPM Meet, it only seems fitting that this week's Drop is 100% HOn3 narrow gauge!

Friday's lineup features the Denver & Rio Grande Western, Colorado & Southern, East Broad Top, and several other narrow gauge operations.

We've got a great assortment of steam locomotives, passenger cars, freight equipment, and even a couple of diesels, with models from Pacific Fast Mail, Far East Distributors, Precision Scale Co., Sunset Models, Westside Model Co., and more.

⭐ This week's standouts are some beautifully painted D&RGW steam locomotives, including the famous No. 268 "Bumblebee" and several impressive K-class locomotives, representing the same legendary narrow gauge power that can still be seen operating in Colorado today.

Whether you're a dedicated narrow gauge collector or simply appreciate these remarkable little railroads, there's plenty to explore this Friday.

THANK YOU, NAPERVILLE! NEXT STOP: COLORADO RPM

That's a wrap for the 2026 Chicagoland RPM Conference!

A sincere thank you to everyone who stopped by our tables this weekend. Whether you found something new for your collection, spent some time browsing, or simply stopped to catch up and talk trains, we truly enjoyed seeing everyone. Your continued support means a great deal to our entire team, and we appreciate everyone who helped make this another enjoyable event.

Meanwhile, a little farther west...

We're sharing a few photos from the Colorado Rail Prototype Meet, where the event continues tomorrow, Sunday, October 18, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

While ReSourced Rails isn't set up as a vendor at this event, we're happy to be supporting it as a sponsor. Events like these are an important part of keeping the hobby moving forward, bringing modelers together to share their knowledge, research, and enthusiasm for railroading.

Matt will be wandering around the Colorado RPM Meet for a bit tomorrow morning, so if you spot him, stop and say hello. He's always happy to talk brass, compare notes, or just catch up with fellow hobbyists.

Thanks again to everyone in Naperville, and to the organizers and volunteers making both events possible. It's weekends like these that remind us why we enjoy being part of this hobby.

GOOD MORNING FROM RPM Conference NAPERVILLE!

We’re back for another day at the 2026 Chicagoland RPM Conference, and there’s still plenty of time to come see us.

As you can see from yesterday’s photos, we brought quite a bit along for the weekend. Our tables are stocked with a wide selection of HO scale brass models and resin kits, with plenty to explore for collectors and prototype modelers alike.

The vendor room will be open until at least 2:00 PM today, and it’s well worth the visit. Between the vendors, model displays, and opportunities to catch up with fellow railroad enthusiasts, there’s plenty to see.

Whether you’re searching for something specific or simply looking for an enjoyable way to spend part of your Saturday, we’d love to have you stop by.

Office Closed Today | Out on the Rails Again

It’s another busy weekend for the ReSourced Rails crew, and we’re covering a little ground in the process.

Our team is attending the Naperville RPM Conference today and tomorrow, while Matt is headed west for the Colorado RPM Meet this weekend. Of course, no trip to Colorado would be complete without a little railroad sightseeing, so a quick detour through Durango was in order.

After all, it’s hard to pass up an opportunity to spend some quality time around the real thing.

Our Des Plaines office will be closed while we’re away, but the website remains open for business. Orders will be processed when we return, and responses to calls and messages may be delayed.

If you’re attending either RPM event, be sure to stop by and say hello. We’re looking forward to catching up with friends, meeting some new faces, and enjoying another weekend celebrating this great hobby.

And yes, we promise we’re getting some work done between railroad adventures.

Friday's lineup includes steam locomotives, freight cars, cabooses, and more, with some particularly nice pieces from Challenger Imports leading the way.
