To the city of Des Moines,
We are coming to you today with heavy hearts with news that has been difficult to come to. Unfortunately, due to circumstances outside of our control we (Bethany of The Little Book and Jamie of THE COLLECTIVE) have decided that we are no longer able to continue planning and executing a successful Northside Market, therefore we will officially be canceling the event this year. We absolutely know that this is a huge loss for the Northside community, specifically Highland Park and all of the incredible vendors who line the streets with their handmade goods and delicious foods.
Decisions like this are impossible to make, but at this time we both need to step back and focus on the future of our own businesses as there is much happening behind the scenes in our building. We ask for your understanding as this was an extremely difficult decision to come to on our ends and we are truly heartbroken over having to make it.
To our vendors, we hope that those of you who are familiar with the two of us know that we understand how the cancellation of this market will impact your summer business and for that we are so very sorry. We wish that our circumstances were different. Thank you again for ALL that you do to enrich the small business community here in Des Moines through your craft. We appreciate yβall more than we can express.
To the patrons of the market, please find ways to support the vendors who will no longer have the opportunity to join us in Highland Park in July.
AND a very special thank you to The Side Garage for all of your marketing work thus far, we appreciate you tremendously.
Sincerely,
Bethany Fast, The Little Book
Jamie Nicolino, THE COLLECTIVE
