After having surgery earlier this month going up or down stairs was hard and not recommended by my surgeon. If you’ve had a c section, it was a bit like that. Doable, but ouch.
Our home office happens to be downstairs, and it is where we shoot most of the web listings in a studio-like set up. Most people assume it’s in-store, but no. So while post-op we’ve had to be a little creative and shoot product upstairs while I recuperate. It’s not so crazy to think my partner would help and do what was needed for us to work comfortably during that time, but it is pretty special how our 5 year old stepped up to help, too. He’s always my biggest cheerleader, our biggest helper, the one to complete us as the three musketeers.
Anyways, I snapped this photo while Alec was at the store packing orders one of those first days after I got home. I was photographing inventory to list online, Holden was taking the measurements. We had music playing, but otherwise worked in relative silence. Taking our task seriously in an odd setting: our kitchen.
Don’t underestimate your kids. Don’t forget to tell them how special they are. Don’t get too used to their kindness. Don’t assume they aren’t capable. And definitely don’t forget to tell them thank you ❤️
And thank YOU all for the well wishes. My recovery has not been linear, emotionally or physically, but I’m so grateful 🫶🏼
