Scripture tells us to everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. When I first bought my 2016 Challenger Hellcat, I had no idea what it would turn into. From cruising the streets to a fully street modified racecar. God quickly gave me the vision to use Big Jon Racing as a ministry tool while also setting out to become the record holder for the Dodge Challenger in the standing mile. And by God’s abundant grace and mercy in a short period of time, we did just that.
Today, while we’re on top and still the Challenger record holder at 214.8 MPH, I’m officially retiring from top speed racing. At the end of this year, Big Jon Racing, LLC. will officially close its doors. After spending much time meditating and praying about the future of BJR, the Lord revealed to me that it was the right time. And although it has been a tough decision to make, I must do what He is leading me to do.
Judah, alias for our Challenger Hellcat, has been fully rebuilt by London Chassis Dyno with twin 76mm turbos and will be up for sale and available for purchase in the very near future. As a Christian, God instructs us to be good stewards of what He has entrusted to us. Because of my retirement from racing, I will no longer have a need to keep this fully built racecar, and I believe in the right hands it will perform phenomenally to the next person, while also achieving new accomplishments.
Since the launch of Big Jon Racing, I have met so many incredible people along the way, and I have so much to be thankful for from each and everyone of you. Whether it was a relationship made at the track, at a local car show, or through my local car club, the 316 ModernMopar, all of you have been the best support system any racer could ask for. THANK YOU!!!
We also had some incredible long-term sponsors on this journey with us: Mike Hessong Photography, Wichita Clear Bra, and Wolf Tactical And Design, LLC. I want to thank each of you for all the time, resources, and support you poured into making our program successful at BJR!!!
Finally, to my longtime performance shop, London Chassis Dyno (Chad Epperson & Willie Taylor), and my longtime parts supplier, Weir Racing (Jordan Weir), I wouldn’t be able to retire on top without you guys. We have spent countless hours building this racecar and sending it down the track time after time, just for the one sweet record setting pass. I’m forever grateful for the time and effort you put into BJR!!!
As one friend said, this may be the end for Big Jon Racing and Judah, but Big Jon Racing is not the organization or the car, it’s us!
May God bless each and every one of you!
“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace.”
