Absolutely amazing etched Heliodor Crystal. Heliodor is part of the Beryl family and is often referred to as Golden Beryl or Yellow Beryl. Heliodor is often cut into beautiful gemstones but special examples such this are saved for their raw beauty. Most of the worlds Heliodor comes from various places around the world such Madagascar, Brazil, Namibia, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, and Russia. Heliodor is a 7.5-8 on the mohs hardness, has imperfect cleavage, and is a Silicate. I’m just sharing this piece for appreciation and it is not for sale.

I absolutely love this Quartz from Switzerland. Such an amazing piece from an amazing find. This Quartz is from the Gotthard tunnel excavation in Uri Switzerland. This is an amazing story and technological feat that also uncovered some beautiful minerals deep within the Swiss alps. Stoked to be able to share this material with you all!! Throwing it back to these “Blue Hemimorphite” that hit the market around the Denver Gem show. As many of you know their was a huge talk amongst collectors and dealers wether this material was real or not. Many people long time collectors and dealers both thought it looked to real to be fake and while others had major suspicions from the get go. It turned out these were faked specimens that had been altered by non organic chemical dyes that had occurred after the crystal growth had occurred. This was a huuuge surprise to lots of the mineral community and industry and went to prove the amount of work some people were willing to go through to produce fakes as close to the real thing as possible. Thank you to the land and mineral community that made getting to the bottom of this possible the the people that spend countless hours studying these rocks we all love to much 🙏🙏
