Hello my customers who have become friends. It’s time to tell you about what is happening with The Singletrack Factory as of September 2017. It’s been 20 years since we opened, and I want to sincerely thank all of you for a great run, fun times, and lots of stoke. That is what we always tried to do, is not sell bikes, but sell stoke. Right now, I am stoked.
For the last 18 months I have attempted to sell the business to current staff in order to keep the brand and business going in capable hands. We were not able to accomplish the sale and transfer of the business. So, I have decided to liquidate and move on to my new endeavors.
I’d really like for this to be a celebration, rather than a bummer or anyone thinking that this was failure. Actually, year number 20 was also another business success. 2017 was a great year in that the business turned 20 and I turned 50. So, I decided that after having 2 jobs in 29 years, that I was going to give myself the best birthday present I can. To close the shop and move on.
We will be closing the shop as of October 15, 2017 and will maintain regular business hours until then, and promise to do the best we can to wrap up and provide the service that you are accustomed to. As we wind down, we are going to discontinue taking any service work (bike repair) and will no longer be sending out demos or rentals, so that we can have the entire stock of bikes, parts, and clothing ready for the retirement sale that kicks off as of today, September 19.
It truly cannot be emphasized enough how much I have appreciated your business, friendship, and support since 1997.
Keep in touch with us over the next couple of weeks. I’m going to throw a celebration/appreciation party for all friends here at the shop when we are shut down.
In the mean time, we are selling everything in the store until October 15, 2017 at retirement sale prices.
