This National Electrical Safety Month, we’re highlighting why IP ratings matter, with real-world application examples to help simplify specification across residential and commercial projects.

IP (Ingress Protection) ratings classify a product’s level of protection against dust and moisture:
• The first number refers to protection against solids and debris
• The second number refers to protection against water exposure

From dry indoor environments to exposed outdoor and wet-location applications, selecting the appropriate IP rating helps support safer installations, reliable performance, and longer product life.

We are heartbroken to share the news of the passing of our teammate and friend, Jeff Comeaux. Jeff was one of those people who made everyone feel welcome, and his kindness, warmth, and Louisiana charm left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

After recently retiring and beginning a new chapter with his wife Lisa, Jeff unexpectedly passed away following a heart attack. Jeff’s family friends and loved ones have created a GoFundMe to help support Lisa during this incredibly difficult time as she navigates medical expenses and life without her partner of 23 years.

If you feel moved to help, they would deeply appreciate any contribution. Please keep Lisa, their family, and all who loved Jeff in your thoughts. ❤️

Please note that our offices will be closed Tuesday, May 12, as we take time to honor and remember a cherished team member whose passing has deeply impacted our team.
