As the owners of A Pet’s Paradise & Quantum Alchemy, both Karen and I want to start by expressing our gratitude and appreciation for the way this community has supported our neighborhood stores since 1996. As with everything important in our lives, we never planned on opening two retail stores and building our lives around the care and health of both pets and people in the Capital Hill community. But that’s what ended up happening and it has been a joy to do so.
One thing we promised ourselves when we started this journey is that we would build our business through quality products and trusted longterm relationships with our customers. Strictly through word of mouth of our customers we have been blessed to be your neighborhood store all of these years. For that we cannot thank all of you enough. We have never really thought about the actual day we would need to make the decision to stop doing what we love. But primarily due to a recent medical situation it has been made crystal clear that we need to start focusing on our personal health.
With that being said we made the very hard and wrenching decision to sell our home/businesses. Kim has been with us for years and our customers know and trust her and Emily who recently joined our team and was an immediate asset.
We are leaving for South Carolina this week and know we leave you in good hands with our trusted employees. Please give the new management feedback on how they are doing. Feedback has been an integral part of building trust and our business for all of these years. Some of you we have been able to say good bye to and some we haven’t seen, but please know we treasure all of you and appreciate you allowing us to be a part of your journey for so many years.
