It’s that time of year again! The time to get your snowblower tuned up and dialed in to move some snow! It’s also time to get your spring and summer equipment winterized and put away for the season.

Getting your snowblower ready after sitting for so long is critically important to making sure your machine runs strong all winter. You want to make sure your fuel is in good condition, especially if there has been no stabilizer added to it. Your carburetor isn’t gummed up and is clean. Your oil is fresh and is the right oil for cold conditions. Spark plugs are in good shape and working. Tires, tines, cables, and levers are working great! No one wants to have issues in the cold and snow!

Winterizing your lawn mower, trimmer, edger, aerator, power rake and all your other spring equipment is just as critical. Let’s stabilize your fuel. Shut your fuel off. Change your oil and filters. Disconnect your batteries and fix anything that needs to be addressed. This will ensure your equipment is ready to sit through the cold winter and fire up with very little effort next season!

Finished up this ride on mower project this past week! Nick said that it was running just fine, and then it just would not start at all. While going through the machine initially, I found that it had very low compression. I took the head off and found that the piston, rings, and cylinder were in great shape. Upon inspection of the head, I found that the intake valve was not seating properly due to build up of gunk from running too rich. I took the head apart and cleaned the valves up. Cleaned up the carburetor and adjust the fuel settings to make it a little more lean. Installed some new gaskets and air filter. The machine is running like new again! Thanks for the opportunity, Nick!
