A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of receiving an email from Jennifer 💜, a loyal Happi Hippo customer [and as Facebook dubs her, a TOP FAN 😀 ] regarding making a new custom bag. She explained that the bag she wanted to make was to be made using a Breast Cancer Awareness🎗 fabric print as she had recently been diagnosed with non-invasive breast cancer and currently in the process of scheduling a double mastectomy. She went on to tell me that if she could empower anyone or raise awareness by carrying this bag, it would make her feel so good. This bag would need to accommodate different steps of her recovery journey and include different styles of straps, a specific size, design, etc. As we worked together hashing out all the details for the bag, we naturally began cultivating a friendship [as happens with so many Pink Ladies!]. We decided we would add a special embroidered design inside that she could see when she opened her bag and flash at anyone who would look! 😉
As we all know, serious health issues and illnesses can affect a family as a whole. In working with Jennifer and witnessing her selflessness, bravery, and concern for how her family may be affected through it all, I got to thinking about how I could possibly help on another level and it came to me - The Pink Ladies 💝! From my experience, the Pink Lady community is a special group of mamas who have a unique bond and although we all love us some Jujube bags, it’s about so much more than that! It’s about women supporting women and through every and any season of life. 👭
When I approached Jennifer with my idea, she was hesitant to accept but with a little gentle push, she agreed and expressed that “If my experiences helps someone or eases their mind, heart, or burden, then that gives me the strength and appreciation for the experience.” 🤯
I hope you will consider purchasing one or more Breast Cancer Awareness bag tag/s.
ANY and ALL kind words of encouragement for Jennifer, anyone you know, and all women fighting this fight are also welcome and appreciated!
Whether the proceeds provide a family dinner, a small amount toward a medical bill, help for her family during her recovery, or even just some good ole’ retail therapy, I’d consider it a good investment!
