The kiln is loaded for a bisque fire 🔥 and it’s already full. I will have to do 2 bisque fires 🔥 back 2 back because I have so much made. This is a lot of work to paint by hand; and it will likely be 2-3 weeks straight of painting 🎨

Well… I ran out of clay!

I made so much stuff that I had to crush up scraps to make more. Now I have runny slip drying on plaster, so I’m painting 🎨 chalices (4) with underglaze. They’re still a bit wet and cold 🥶 to the touch. I will handle them carefully ⚠️

I will be wheel throwing chalices again this weekend. I didn’t do clay last weekend for a good reason - I had a girl’s night out with my Spanish friend from work. We went to First Friday last weekend and it was so fun! So much incredible art, paintings, sculptures, jewelry, pottery, stickers, food trucks 🛻 etc. Then Saturday I was so exhausted from all the walking the crowds & from having a heavy purse with a metal water bottle. Won’t do that again. Back hurt all last weekend. Will be glad 😀 to get back to my art!

My pottery business is growing by leaps and bounds! I had another sale today on Khari’s Wiccan Treasures and on Celtic Soul Pottery and my biz account is slowly recovering. Today I will be throwing offering plates. Yesterday, I trimmed 2 of these plates, I will post a pic later.

While many of my friends are getting ready for Dragonfest, I only have 2 weeks left before returning to school and I am just starting to get very good at throwing. It is like a muscle memory that repetition over and over produces better results! One of the plates was 9 1/4” wet after throwing, then 9” when I was trimming it. My ritual plates are going to get bigger.
