We stopped at the Homestead Ice cream Shoppe tonight on our way home from dinner. I remember taking my kids there years ago. It's a great little place to take your family. Shout out to the young ladies working there. They are open Mon-Sat 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Stop in and support the small local businesses in the area. The community does not realize that these small locals are more important than keeping Walmart's doors open. Shop local.

My daughter was at my house a couple weeks and was munching on some of the Reese's minatures. She asked me if they were old. I said no. We have since found out that Reese's has changed their formula!! The "milk" chocolate no longer has milk in it. They have gone dairy free. And to top it off, it no longer has peanut butter in it, it's something they call peanut creme'. So, if you pick up a Reese's product and it tastes funny, this is why. The Reese's family, who sold out to Hershey back in the 1960's, are irate, and I can't blame them.

Jelly Belly beans were first created in 1965 in California. Ronald Reagan, who had quit smoking, started popping the beans to satisfy his craving. While he was Governor of California, he always kept a jar on his desk and passed it around prior to all of his meetings. He carried that practice into the White House when he became President, and sent jars of Jelly Belly beans to visiting dignitaries. Reagan made Jelly Belly the first beans sent into space. The Jelly Belly character was created in 1983. This is a picture of me at the Sweets & Snacks Expo in Chicago. Our store carries nearly 60 individual flavors of the beans. You can mix, or just get a container of your favorite alone.
