Perfect Blend Cafe & Bakery is hosting SpringFest 2026 today beginning at 2pm with live music, beer, wine and food! I Love Books will be open regular hours 10am-5pm. Please enjoy the music and all the festivities and be aware of additional parking at the public lot on Kenwood as the event takes place outside in the back lot.

Another day in June is here and here are just a few of the books hitting our shelves today. And I feel the need to highlight a couple that are already bestsellers because I had such a phenomenal reading month in May and Katherine Stockett's Calamity Club and Annie Harnett's The Road to Tender Hearts were the books that completed my month in the best way. I am definitely looking forward to the new Ann Patchett but she will have to wait as my stack is tall!

And how adorable is this whale rainbow stress squishy from Gift Republic? Our rainbow window display is on the way. Rainbow is my favorite color.

So excited when we opened this box with our new selection of I Love Books t-shirts. So many colors and a new book bag too (with a zipper closure and a zippered pouch!) We can't possibly choose our favorite but we'll definitely be wearing these this summer!

So many new items have been arriving lately and so a quick overview today. We received a fresh Crazy Aaron's Thinking Putty order, the Butter Putty is on backorder so look for that in the future but we have lots of full size and mini Putty in stock. Also we have Dumplings of various types.
A lovely shipment of Mantra Bands just came in, perfect for graduates.
Lots of art supplies from Ooly, fun for birthday gifts and road trips.
New chocolate bar flavors from Hammonds. We've already tried 2 of the 4 new ones and highly approve.
And the New Groovy Girls are here! Your kids grew up with them at I Love Books, and now it's time for a new generation.
We restocked some Mo Willems and Elephant and Piggie can't wait to go home with someone!

I've been on a lucky reading roll in May, meaning the last few books I've read have been terrific and that's just amazing because right now, I'm at four in a row. It began with my favorite read of May, the dystopian The Infinite Sadness of Small Appliances by Glenn Dixon ( I loved it, I cried), then my first time reading author Philip Fracassi, The Third Rule of Time Travel, a fun sci-fi paperback perfect for some escape from reality, then Sarah Damoff's The Burning Side, contemporary fiction which is so human and relatable and now Katherine Stockett's wonderful historical fiction The Calamity Club. Next on my stack is Christina Baker Kline's The Foursome. I still think about her book A Piece of the World. Will I go 5 for 5 of fully immersed, enjoyable reads? Stop in at I Love Books for a new book for yourself for the long weekend. Rain or sunshine, reading is the way to go!
The shop will be closed on Monday, Memorial day.

Our window display is for the birds! And the pigeon is our favorite bird these days, thanks to these amazing plush pieces from Squishable and of course, the Pigeon books by mo willems. But there are beautiful and fun books about our other fine feathered friends. And who is the early bird who will get the large squishable earthworm hiding at the bottom of the window?
