I had to take advantage of the rainy, overcast conditions yesterday ahead of the MDW madness. It was like pulling teeth trying to get them to commit, but I was able to get one that mattered. My biggest of the season so far (no measurement because I don't care unless it's a potential PB). The only thing they would even react to at all was the Nessie 11, which has quickly become a staple lure for me. At first, I thought it was too big. It's not. The 11" seems to cover all your bases whether they're on bunker, herring, or maybe even gizzard shad.
Be safe out there this holiday weekend! If you're going out in a kayak, make sure you're wearing a PFD, have plenty of lighting/visibility, buddy up or tell someone where you're going, and keep your head on a swivel!
