First cold snap in Tennessee means one thing.

Chili’s on the stove. Around here, it’s practically tradition.

Use ground beef, ground chicken, ground turkey, or our Ancestral Blend if you want to sneak in some extra nutrients without the liver complaints.

Make a double batch. Tomorrow’s chili is better anyway.

Here's Mr. Weaver, our #1 fan and his delicious 2 Coots dinner. A NY strip steak with a side of potatoes. Yum! Thanks for sharing, Mr. Weaver!

Any knife lovers out there? There's an auction coming up that will support Post 128's new community building. Mark your calendars!

🔪 Knife lovers, this one's for Post 128!

Justin Pearcy of Tri-County Concrete (yes, the same Justin who donated concrete for our new building!) runs Southeast Blade Traders, a private Facebook group for buying and trading knives. Every Thursday they hold an auction, and next Thursday, October 15th, every dollar goes to Build 128. 🎗️

What's up for grabs:
✅ At least 79 knives, with bids starting at $1
✅ Case, Barlow, Boker and more
✅ Fillet knives to pocket knives
✅ Antiques (one dates to 1920!) to knives made this year
✅ No reserve. Everything goes!

How it works:
1️⃣ Join Southeast Blade Traders NOW. There's an approval process, and we don't want you to miss out! ➡ Find the group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/764388067822592/
2️⃣ Be active on Facebook Thursday, October 15th. Each knife gets its own post, and you bid in the comments.
3️⃣ Win it, pay for it, it's yours! Once your payment goes through (Venmo, PayPal or cash), the knife is yours. Pick up locally or ship anywhere in the U.S.

A big thank you to Mammoth Mike Newland for donating a knife, and to blacksmith Dodd Gear for donating a custom-made knife! 🙌

Your friendly neighborhood turkey reminder.

Want a 2 Coots bird on the Thanksgiving table? We’ve got whole turkeys in the freezer now. Want a certain size? Holler at us.

Meanwhile, these Broad Breasted Bronze fellas are still out on pasture doing turkey things.

Thanksgiving-you says order the turkey.

Welcome back to the herd! Now wasn't that a warm greeting?

Look at my new little Zebu, born here at the ranch! He is about 12 inches tall if that. I named him Comanche!
Market is open, fresh bread and cinnamon rolls on the counter.

Today we're weighing cows. Some took it better than others... This is all just a part of monitoring and making sure the herd is in tip top shape, especially when we're thinking about breeding.

Thanks to all the good people supporting our local Tennessee community. Every purchase at the ranch, every donation to Post 128, every time you help a neighbor... it makes us all stronger 🙏

Supporting our soldiers never ends. 🎗️

We're taking a moment to remember the Family Support Group's donation in honor of 1SG John Lewis "Sully" Sullender. Gifts like theirs are laying the groundwork for a community building our whole hometown can be proud of.

Here's where things stand:
✅ Foundation poured (smooth as glass)
✅ Power on (currently powering one very lonely pole)
⬜ Actual building (still working on that part 😅)

We've got the floor. We've got the electricity. We just need some walls and a roof, and a few more good people to help us get there!

🎟️ Buy a $1 raffle ticket (drawing is THIS SATURDAY 10/3 at the Decaturville Farmers Market)
💵 Donate any amount at americanlegionpost128.org/donate
🔨 Volunteer your time, tools, or talents (hammer optional, enthusiasm required)

Thank you for investing in our hometown. ❤️

Frozen meat at 5 p.m. isn’t a dinner plan.

A little planning goes a long way. Fridge is best, cold water works when you’re short on time, and the microwave is there when you really forgot.

Whatever you do, don’t leave it sitting on the counter.

Save this one for the next time you forget to pull dinner out of the freezer.

You gotta make hay when the sun shines. Literally.

We’re getting ready for winter and trying to put up enough of our own hay that we don’t have to buy it later.

Turns out “free grass” takes a lot of work.

This mornings view of the moon setting! The market is open until 4 today!

It’s September, so naturally we’re already thinking about Thanksgiving turkey (time moves differently here)...

If you know you want a 2 Coots bird on the table this year, we’ve got whole turkeys in the freezer right now.

Want a certain size? Holler at us and we’ll see what we can do. Because waiting until the week of Thanksgiving and hoping for the best is not recommended!

Meanwhile, this year’s Broad Breasted Bronze turkeys are out on pasture doing what turkeys do. Eating, growing and generally having no idea what November has in store.
They’re pasture-raised, corn and soy free, with no chemicals, GMOs, added saline, colors or flavors. And we wash our birds in water. That’s it. Just water.

We expect the frozen birds to sell out. If they do, don’t panic and don’t buy a sad grocery store turkey just yet. We’ll have more details coming on how to get one of our fresh birds the week before Thanksgiving.

Yes we know September feels early. You'll thank us later.

Look at these little cuties, that were born this weekend! On the left we have baby "Casey" with Mama Bella, and on the right we have "Conan."
The store will be open Tues at 10am, in the meantime I am off to get the spoiling started!!
Eggs, chicken, turkey and beef all ready for you!

09/05/2026

We are changing our store hours starting next Tuesday 9/8/26. These times seem to be the times most people have frequented the store. Thank you to everyone that supports our market!

09/01/2026

We have fresh white bread, cinnamon bread and cinnamon rolls available this morning
