My ancestral shrine looks a bit different from most. Because I come from a family that prioritizes passing down family keepsakes, I am blessed to have pieces touched by family members no longer with us. I display these treasures with a white candle all around my home and light them when I need guidance from those who love and protect me often. This is representative of my uncle Albert Simmons. As I get older, I realize that I am a lot like him: country, stubborn, hilarious, charming, and unwavering in my beliefs. Having a piece of him here is important to me.

Truth Tree: I love postcards. I especially love receiving them and have been getting some fairly frequent ones from a very great friend up the road. We have each other's number, connect in person often, but sometimes, a postcard is just the pick me up I never knew I needed. So, I sent my very first Petty Truths postcard last week and she let me that it made her day. Hooray for me designing something that the US postal system deemed acceptable mail (I was completely worried as I don't think I've ever tested them, yall! Lol) I'm sending more. Today began yesterday with a text to about the body's ability to self-protect from harmful energy. On a whim I sent a message that felt random, but became beautiful media today.

Today began this morning with me praying to the ancestors for protection from and binding of negative spirits I felt creeping into the dark corners of my life. On a whim while walking Hershey. I then had a chance encounter with a man who had read my energy once before, labeled me divine and troubled, and assured me my peace was being restored and my gifts were giving sustenance to others. On a whim.

Today began when I accepted a friend's gift to and entered a holy space of vulnerability and radical justice of the mind, body, and spirit. The Nap Bishop watched over us as we rested, protecting us from the rest of the world, while I entered a realm that allowed me to feel my ancestors surround my mat and deliver restoration to my bones, my very bones. I was told, "Thank you for living" and was loved on by black women who called me "Sis," held me tightly while I cried uncontrollably, and told me "Remember only facts and truths. Truths and facts. Don't believe the lies you hear." I won't ever forget this awakening. Today began yesterday.

It ain't enough for you to hate us silently in your homes, your thoughts, in your car alone. You have to celebrate it. Rejoice in the freedom that you have to blatantly sow racism into the fabric of your garments, businesses, and display windows. You throw bombs because you can. You rely heavily on the canned apology you have ready to cover your asses. Then you send another one. And another one. Because you can blame it on whatever is closest by and most believable: lack of understanding of this world's anti-black history this time. You're a fu***ng liar and I wish you would just make the shirt that says, "I hate everyone Black" so we can just get this gaslighting s**t over with, and . Somebody count and collect the apology statements from companies like these and send them to me. I need something to wipe my ass with.
