We’d like to thank the City of Dayton for their work recently helping us with an issue!
Story time- when we purchased our building there was not a parking sign on the street! Parking was a big part of the negotiation process with the zoning board because I’m sure you’ve noticed our lot is very small. In the end we were approved to be there because it was free street parking all the way down Beckel St on our side of the road. We have since also gotten permission to use the gravel lot at the end of Beckel for overflow.
Imagine our dismay when we showed up one day and saw this sign on our side of the street! 😱 We immediately wrote to the gentleman from zoning and who replied almost instantly and gave us the info for public works.
Folks they looked all the way back to 1980 to determine why the parking was this way and said the sign missing had not been on their radar so they were just replacing what should have been there.
They were super friendly and worked with us and now we’re back to it being a free pass to park on our side of Beckel. The red part of the sign is still up but will be coming down Monday. Anyways we’re thankful!
TLDR: we’re free to park again :)
