Things I can’t stop thinking about:

-A week ago, a woman came into the shop and we stood there crying with her. She told us she met her person at Heart, fell in love, became a couple. And now that person is no longer with us.
I keep wondering how she’s doing.

-We had our weird little “take what you need, pay what you want, pay nothing if you can’t” garage sale. A girl picked up a basket and handed us $150.
For a basket.
That was so generous and unexpected.
Still can’t believe that. So if you’re reading this, thank you again.

-there is only one person behind bars re: Epstein.
The files still haven’t been completely released, and none of the men involved have been indicted.
Even the royal family booted Andrew, and they’re notorious for covering up heinous things. On my mind because this banger is stuck in my head:

Many of you may remember this tragedy and donated to the family’s GoFundMe after it happened.

A drunk guy hit a family and didn’t stop, dragging a 9 year old little girl trapped under his van all the way down Wayne Avenue.

Allegedly it was a theater way back when.
Then a dojo.
Probably a brothel at some point, who knows?
I was researching and this building has had so many tenants, and Dayton hasn’t always kept the best track of history.
Primo location (in our opinion) to several restaurants and bars—across from Trolley Stop + Lucky’s and adjacent to the Dublin Pub.

We have painstakingly refinished the floors and taken immaculate care of the space. There’s upstairs storage, a bathroom, a few closets.
You’re welcome to stop by and take a look around when we are open and check the space out.
(But PLEASE be patient if we are helping others or ringing them out)

We never actually named this other goose, which might explain why they’re out here acting up and coming after Kait.

Questions on the geese:
There are two.
The first goose is a standard concrete goose.
She was gifted to us, and with the blessing of the person who gave her to us, we will be raffling her off for a good cause.
This same goose may have tried to kill or save Kait’s life last week, which should increase the lore and value either way.

The second goose is more complicated.
She was also gifted to us, but arrived in rough shape. My mom and son painstakingly cleaned her up and restored her. She's handpainted and beautiful. We took name requests on socials and went with Goose Bader Ginsburg.

Two years ago, she was beheaded.
Mysterious circumstances.
I suspect Kait’s involvement in this incident as well, but it was ✨allegedly✨a customer.
Kait has a very long, troubled history with birds. They’re out to get her.
Obsessed, even.

My mom and dad successfully reattached it using metal, glue, braces, and an unusual amount of determination given that this is just a stupid goose.
You would have thought that this restoration project of neck surgery was a matter of life or death.

Speaking of death—Bob died.

Contrary to popular belief, there was no trust fund. When he passed away, my inheritance was a 40 year old duffel bag, and a fully punched cheesesteak reward card I found in his van.
GBG has appreciated dramatically in sentimental value despite being a useless item w a glued on head.
If she is decapitated again, I will only be left with this ancient duffle bag and a free cheesesteak, so I can’t part with her.
Dad would probably haunt me given the hard work he put in to make her whole again.

Our very helpful (maybe harmful, maybe inhabited by a sh*tty ghost child) goose will be up grabs soon.
We will get to working on setting up raffles for all of the other items and post details.
