We love community and we love supporting local farmers and chefs, which is why we are a huge fan of the Village Feast, happening in Davis on Saturday, September 28th from 1-4pm. This event is a family-style farm-to-fork celebration in the style of the late summer feasts in Provence called Le Grand Aïoli. There will be delicious food, fine wine, and great company. And the best part? It benefits Davis Farm to School and Les Dames D'Escoffier, Sacramento, two great local non-profits that support garden-based education and women in food.

The Village Feast is happening on Saturday, September 28 from 1-4pm! It's a community gathering and celebration of Northern California's harvest season, in the spirit of the annual summer celebration held in Provence called Le Grand Aïoli 🥗

At the Village Feast, we dine family-style under the shade of the sycamore trees in Davis Central Park and drink a fine selection of local wines 🥂

And the best part? The Village Feast is a fundraiser for Davis Farm to School and Les Dames D'Escoffier, Sacramento, two local organizations that support garden-based education and women in food 👩‍🌾👩‍🍳

In my mind I’m riding my bike to an early evening picnic with some crusty French bread, stinky cheese, and crisp rosé 🥖🧀

In reality I’m trying to avoid the wind by hunkering down inside and watching movies. We spent all morning/early afternoon outside at the park and I’m totally over this wind — it’s my least favorite weather 😫

Congrats to The Kitchen for their Michelin star ⭐️

The Kitchen became the first Michelin-starred Sacramento restaurant on Monday, joining dozens of other restaurants in the first-ever statewide guide by receiving one star.

Cindy Marlene Garcia is a Davis-based butcher who will be the first woman on the U.S. competitive butchering team. She will compete in the Young Butcher part of the World Butchers’ Challenge in Sacramento.

Happy World Bee Day! 🐝

I celebrated by observing many of the pollinator-friendly plants at the UCD Arboretum and my kids went on a field trip to the UCD Honey Bee Haven 💛

Ok ok I didn’t actually know it was until like 5 minutes ago, but I’m happy to be surrounded by so many cool everyday bee friendly activities here in Davis and to celebrate bees everyday! And yes we actually did those activities today so it was somewhat serendipitous 💫

It's today! We are thankful for all the bees that keep our food system going. We 💚🐝🐝🐝
