12/31/2025
2025 was the year of the snake, and this could not have been more accurate in describing the last twelve months.
It was hard. Uncomfortable. The year challenged us in ways personally and professionally that we didn't anticipate.
We shed the things that didn't work for us and made room for new people and opportunities for us to continue our evolution.
To set the tone for 2026, I want to take a moment to be grateful for the gifts from 2025.
Sanctum Style is all about community. Our people make our store what it is, and I am so lucky to have support in the store with Lisa and Sydney. I am grateful to Ryan for so many things; there is no one else I'd want to do "life" with.
To our clients: Thank you for showing up season after season to support us. We've been through multiples moves, Columbia Gas, a pandemic, and all of the life things together. It is my privilege to continue to serve you.
I have been blessed with so many people in the fashion industry who have welcomed me into their fold. These colleagues have let me pull up a chair at the big kids table, and have given me the gift of their wisdom and encouragement. I've been fortunate in life that the people I have needed have always appeared when I was ready, and they have pushed me to take risks, dream bigger, and test my limits. I won't name them all, but I would like to extend a special "thank you" to Alan Gibeley.
Life has a funny way of giving us what we need, even when we don't understand why. I began last year as a first time owner of a spicy chestnut mare that I knew was a "project" horse. One day I'll share her story, but P.S. I'm So Riveting A.K.A Rou has taught me so many things that have been priceless. She has shown me that with proper care, structure, consistency, respect, and love, anyone can thrive. She challenged me (and dumped me) repeatedly as we became acquainted, and I chose to see the good in her, and to not give up where so many others had. She shows up everyday for me with so much heart.
As we enter the year of the horse, I'm going to take inspiration from my own.....including unapologetically having some sass and attitude.
Wishing you all a very Happy New Year!
