10/30/2026
October is wrapping up, the clocks are about to roll back, election season is in full swing, and somehow Christmas has already arrived in the shop.
In other words, everything feels perfectly normal.
POLITICS ARE SPOOKY. SO IS DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME.
Election season and Halloween colliding in the same week feels a little too on the nose, so we’ll leave the politics to everyone else and stick to things we know: plants, oddities, good smells, tiny things, handmade things and an unreasonable number of Christmas gnomes.
And once you’ve survived Halloween weekend, there’s a reward waiting: Daylight Saving Time ends Sunday, so enjoy the “fall back” and reclaim that glorious extra hour.
Use it wisely. Sleep in. Water your plants. Come shop. Stare at the ceiling and contemplate why it gets dark before dinner. Your hour, your choice.
STILL RECOVERING FROM PLANT-CON?
Maybe it’s the post-PlantCon hangover talking, but after a weekend of admission tickets, wish-list plants, vendor booths and “well, I’m already here…” purchases, does anyone else feel a little Conned?
We kid. Mostly.
The good news is we rescued a few discoveries of our own—including something small, green and aquatic that has already made its way into the shop. We partnered with one of the vendors to save some inventory locally to have available to you.
WE HAVE MOSS BALLS!
Yes, Marimo Moss Balls have arrived.
Each little aquatic oddball lives inside a small glass bottle with a cork top, resting on tiny pebbles. They’re quirky, low-maintenance and just unusual enough to make you wonder why you suddenly need one.
We have a limited supply from one of the PlantCon vendors, so when they’re gone, they’re gone—for now.
SOMETHING SMELLS GOOD IN HERE
We’ve added Misc. Goods Co. incense to the shop, with two scents currently available.
If you’re the kind of person whose brain has one very specific fold dedicated to “Ohhhh, that smells GOOD,” consider it officially tickled.
These have been top sellers for Misc. Goods Co., and after smelling them ourselves, we understand why. They’re an easy addition to a night at home, a thoughtful little gift, or an excellent excuse to make your space smell considerably more sophisticated than whatever happened in the kitchen earlier.
TINY EARRINGS. TINY PLANTS. TINY THINGS.
New goodies from Dainty Little Tiny Things have landed, including an assortment of plant-inspired stud earrings.
Monstera leaves. Hoya blooms. Funky mushrooms. And, because botanical accuracy has its limits, tiny Chinese takeout boxes.
There’s a style for just about every stud-loving earring wearer—and the packaging might be our favorite part. Each pair comes displayed in a miniature propagation vase that can be reused after the earrings come out.
We’ve also added new stickers and greeting cards from the brand, making this section particularly dangerous for anyone who enjoys saying, “Oh, it’s just a little thing.”
SEND IT. SNIP IT. FRAME IT.
We also have a small collection of handmade framed artwork and “Send & Snip” greeting cards featuring miniature, handmade art-of-nature collages.
Each collage is attached to a black greeting card with thread, so you can send it like a traditional card—but instead of eventually finding its way into a drawer, the recipient can simply snip the thread, remove the artwork and frame it to enjoy for years to come.
A card, a gift and a tiny piece of original art all rolled into one.
Our first selection is intentionally small, but there’s more to come: the artist will be joining us in the shop later in November. Stay tuned for details.
READY OR NOT, THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE.
We know. Halloween isn’t even over and the image may be a tiny bit over exaggerating but.... the seasonal turn waits for no one—and somehow, this year, we’re actually ahead of it, sort of.
Our Christmas ornament display is already up and ready for those of you who shop early for the best decorations, or simply enjoy wandering through Christmas ornaments while still wearing a Halloween T-shirt (we have that too).
You’ll find unique handmade ornaments, themed specialties, traditional glass ornaments and plenty of unexpected finds. And yes, there are gnomes—in various sizes, shapes and occupations—ready to contribute an appropriate amount of holiday nonsense.
This is only the beginning. Once Halloween clears out, we’ll be going full throttle into the holidays with even more arriving throughout November.
Not ready for Christmas yet? We haven’t abandoned autumn.
Holiday mums and Thanksgiving cacti are here, along with fresh rosemary and those wonderfully fragrant little lavendar Christmas trees to help bridge the gap between fall and full-blown holiday mode.
And yes, there’s plenty of fresh plant stock throughout the shop, too. We just figured the plants could let all the new stuff have the spotlight for once.
AND SOMEHOW… WE’RE ALMOST THREE.
As 2026 begins winding down, we’re also getting very close to another milestone: three years in business.
We have plans brewing for Fibonacci Day and our anniversary, with details coming soon.
Three years ago, this little shop was an idea and a lot of work. Today, it continues to grow into something bigger—not simply in what we carry, but in the services we offer, the relationships we create, and the space we get to share with all of you.
That only happens because people continue to walk through our doors, shop our website, tell their friends about us, show up for events, bring us their plant questions, laugh at our jokes, buy weird little things they absolutely did not come in for, and choose to support a small local business.
Thank you.
Your support gives us the ability to keep moving forward, experiment, expand our offerings and services, support other artists and makers, and continue building this cute little shop into whatever it becomes next.
We’re incredibly grateful you’re along for this journey.
Now go enjoy Halloween. Get spooky or stay in and avoid the tricks. Here is a little treat from us.
Then enjoy your extra hour of sleep.
