We had the opportunity to invite Pixel Dan over last summer after the DFW G. I. Joe & Action Figure Toy Show! We love to share our collection and it was fun to have him visit. The collection was in the middle of being moved around after we got home from our 5 day, multi state toy hunting trip that brought home a bunch of new (to us) toys that were being added to the collection. We were also selling at the toy show so my efforts were geared towards that at the time too. Dan is super friendly and fun to hang out with! We look forward to seeing him again and hopefully can get him back out to see the collection, cause we are always rotating what is out on display and adding more toys too!Check out his video of our collection on YouTube! We love getting to make friends and share the fun toys can bring to all ages of kiddos!

Elliott had a blast at the DFW GI Joe And Action Figure Show a few weeks ago.

He was thrilled to see people dressed up as G.I. Joe characters and happily looked at every single booth - Take Me Home Tonight Toys and Vintage Sisters were a couple of his favorites!

He was excited to see all of the cool action figures that he collects and knows so much about.

They may just look like toys to some, but Elliott knows their history, from the ideas that inspired their creation to the adventures he has shared with the characters in cartoons, movies, and comic books.

He loves creating his own stories and new adventures with these action figures, too, and is even more excited when he gets to share this joy with others.

And as much as he liked all of the cool things at the show, it was clear that visiting with his “fellow toy hunters” meant the most.

If you’re lucky enough to know Elliott, you know how happy he is to have people on his “team”. It started with his doctors and nurses, but has now expanded to anyone who helps him in any way, has an adventure with him, or shows interest in the things he cares about.

Here is to many more toy adventures and stories shared with others.

11 more GI Joe G1 full cards got marked off the “need” list to having one of each (including variants)! I’m thinking at some point I’ll need to photograph the whole collection… but that is a task for another day. I’m hoping we will eventually hang them all on a wall were we can only put something shallow, if we put anything there… it’s one of the last few blank walls in our house because bookcases would block the walkway. 😳 😂 *

Who remembers Showbiz Pizza? If you grew up in the 80s in the US you at least attended a birthday party here! I always wonder if there is a warehouse somewhere full of all the animatronic singers…. The idea is intriguing and horrifying all at the same time! 😂 😂 😂

We have been organizing the Lego room and are getting close to starting a rehab on this area! I’m ready to build some trees and landscaping for our shelves, and actually use the cleaning, inventorying, and organizing of the Lego that we have done the last 2 months!!

In another round of house Tetris, today I’m moving my stickers from one storage tote to another so the “old” bins can be moved to the Lego room. It’s so frustrating that storage totes are discontinued or sold out when you need more, but that’s what we are dealing with so we are consolidating what we have to one area. With so much in the collection, the uniformity of storage bins helps things look and stay organized, rather than an episode of Hoarders. Luckily we already have another storage tote that we are using (and can still purchase more of), rather than have to start with something completely new and different! Plus we need totes that will fit on the bookshelves (which they already changed production/design twice on us in the last few years). But moving all the stickers allowed me to find this in the mix… the question now is do I open them and use them or keep them sealed?!? * *
