Looking forward to the horse racing season this year. One of the horses I own a part of, "Max Player" is racing this weekend in the $20 million Saudi Cup. This will probably be the biggest race of the year. He was the only horse to race in each of the Triple Crown events of 2020. I wish I could be there to see it.

Tired of politics? Then help me root on one of our race horses this weekend. Our horse, Swingman, is having his 2nd race coming up on Saturday. It's the 8th race at Keeneland. It's a $70k Maiden Special Weight race at 1 1/16 mile. He came in strong, finishing 3rd in his very first race.

Originally I didn't think we were going to put our horse, Max Player, into the Preakness Stakes, but the decision has been made to do it. Max will be the only horse in the field who will have raced in all 3 Triple Crown events this year. We will be in position #8. We will have a new jockey. He was in our last investor meeting and I have a real good feeling about him. Max's current odds are 15/1. There are 3 top contenders in the race, but the top 3 contenders normally don't all finish in the top 3 spots. That means 1 or more of the other horses will be in that top 3. Max has been doing well in his workouts but can be a little lazy if he is allowed to. If the new jockey can keep a tight rein and not fall too far back in the pack during the first half of the race, Max should have a decent chance of being in the top 3. Join us Saturday afternoon on NBC to watch the action.

Totally excited to watch a horse that I am a part owner in running in the Kentucky Derby today. The horse is Max Player. I think our chances are good. We could win, but I feel pretty confident that you will see us in the top 3. The field of horses is much smaller than usual. We will be starting in the #2 position in the starting gate. The horse that was in the #1 position has been scratched. This The Law, the number 1 rated horse is in starting gate #17. In the entire history of the Derby, no horse has won from gate #17. We have had Max Player at Churchill for about the last month learning the track and working with a new trainer, Steve Assmuson. Steve is the winningest trainer in racing and doesn't have any other horses in the Derby. Max has a new jockey who has a great record of working with "come from behind" horses. Expect the horse to come out of the gate quickly, but to hold back and to stay at the back for most of the race. When he makes his move, this jockey should take him up through the pack instead of running the outside. It should be an exciting race. Join me in rooting him on.

I've shared about the importance of donating to your local food banks, especially in times like now. But do you know what's even better.....sharing the importance and the experience with your family. Today I was really excited to be able to share the experience with my granddaughter. We started out talking about the importance of what we were doing. About how you don't have to be rich to make a difference in other people's lives. We started out with a prayer in our car, that we might find good values and for the people receiving the food. We then went into 2 different grocery stores looking for the best deals. We had a chance to talk about what kinds of food people need and how to make good food choices. We compared prices. We even got a store manager to waive their 4 can limit on canned goods. All this was followed by taking the food to the NTX Food Pantry in The Colony, Tx. The manager of the food pantry was nice enough to show us around and explain the process as well as answer my granddaughter's questions.

Being able to donate is a special feeling.....but sharing the experience and passing it on is even better.

Oh....and the donuts afterwards was pretty good too.

Wish us luck. One of the horses (Max Player) that I'm a part owner in is racing in the Runhappy Travers Stakes at Saratoga tomorrow at 5:15pm CST. Where she places in the race helps determine whether she runs in the Kentucky Derby. Right now she is on track to be one of the Derby runners. She is currently at 6 to 1 odds which should put her in the top 3 contenders for this race.

Let's not forget those who need a little help right now. Almost everyone should have a food bank somewhere close to them. No matter how tight things might be for you, there are others out there who are probably feeling the pinch more. If your reading this....you can afford internet and have the time to spend on Facebook. Instead of using that time to argue politics using obscure misleading websites with people your not going to convince anyway, try to change your part of the world in a practical way. Help someone who needs your help. Food Banks and those they serve could use your help.
