My name is James Husky. I am the owner and curator of The Broken Unicorn, and the creator of Carolina Pagan Events and Services.
I am 64 years old, and over the years I have traveled extensively throughout the United States. My path has many names—metaphysician to some, simply pagan to many friends—but above all, it has been a journey of listening, learning, and witnessing what true spiritual community can look like.
In many places I’ve traveled, I’ve seen something remarkable: diverse Pagan paths coming together in quiet cooperation. Witches, Wiccans, Druids, Heathens, Norse, Hellenic, Roman, Celtic, Kemetic, Slavic, Baltic, polytheists, animists, shamanic practitioners, spirit workers, left-hand path practitioners, dark pagans, eclectic pagans—each distinct, yet united by a shared intention to strengthen their region through connection and mutual respect.
Here in the Foothills, I see the individuals.
What I don’t yet see is the unity.
I would like to help change that.
My vision is to create a Facebook group called Foothill Pagans—a welcoming, inclusive space that spans our region and brings together the many paths that walk this land. A place where people can come and ask, “Are there others like me here?” and be gently guided toward groups, circles, or communities that truly align with their beliefs and personalities.
No more isolation.
No more seekers falling through the cracks.
Just shared knowledge, visibility, and collective strength.
To build this in a way that truly serves the community, I need your input. Please comment on this post—share your path, your thoughts, or what you would hope to find in a space like this. Your voices will help shape how this group is structured and how it can best support everyone it welcomes.
Together, we can cultivate something meaningful for the Foothills. 🌿✨
