Many people think Muslim women wear the Hijab in powerless surrender to man. That their Hijabs are tightly wrapped around their heads by the fists of patriarchy. That there must be some fearsome father or harsh husband silencing their voices, and making their choices.

Ironically, Muslim women around the world fight for their right to wear the Hijab. Whether they are fighting a system, an unsupportive family member, or their own self, may our Muslim sisters everywhere find ease in their struggles, and continue to don their Hijabs. Aameen.
