Food Target for the Simply Delicious Food Blog. Potato Bacon Taco featuring Hatch Chile from the Market.

And over the weekend some Hatch Chile Gravy to go over my biscuits.

And am excited for next week. Current plans has Tara coming to show me the ropes when it comes to working with the Harrington Dining Car Food Truck.

Interesting info regarding Hatch, NM in comments. Hatch is where the Fresh Chile products are grown.

Fresh Chile products going out the door. 5 cases sold last night to a customer from the Quad Cities area. Market supply getting low and I understand that the Company's inventory is getting low with some heat levels sold out.

Available in the Market are medium and mild heat levels. If hotter than that please order directly from the Company.

Been reaching out to Pitmasters that I know inviting them to come play in the Gold Medal BBQ-Iowa sandbox. To show their talent either in Dallas Center, Perry or Adel.

Very excited to announce that Chazz’s Smoke Shack has agreed to come assuming we can agree on a mutually acceptable date. Chayse and Estefany Thomsen have been hitting it out of the park in the Sioux City, IA area. Unfortunately recent storms put their current Mobile rig on the sidelines, but plans are in the works for a replacement. d

I hope it all works out. I have seen the Shack in action. In fact GMBBQ competed in a Famous Dave's qualifier for the World Food Championships and the Shack Crew pulled in a People's Choice First cooking/serving Huli Huli Chicken Wings.

Evaluating pork choices for the upcoming Rib Cookoff Contest I am competing in this weekend. Decided to go with Berkshire, which has a reputation for being high quality pork.

The Berkwood Farms Meat Co. is bringing in a case of fresh St. Louis Ribs. The store is located at 6615 14th St., Des Moines. In a freezer there are many cuts of Berkshire Pork, frozen, for sale to the Public.

I am in discussions with Berkwood to see if Bershire Products can be made available though the Market. Of particular interest to me are ribs, both spare and loin back available all the time. And other cuts by order. For example a bone in Pork Loin. Which I use for Pork Lollipops.

Fuita Wood on order. This time taking advantage of a Memorial Day Sale. But moving forward with setting up Wholesale so I can stock quality wood in the Market.

I have been a Fruita Wood Wholesale Customer in the past and the quality of the flavor wood that I have gotten is outstanding.

I have some flavor wood available in bags of smaller chunks. Too small for the way I like to cook when using charcoal with flavor wood. It is quality wood that came from a St. Louis Company.

Have even ordered in some Mulberry to try. Chazz's Smoke Shack includes in in his wood mix and his flavors are outstanding.

Gold Medal BBQ-Iowa often brings in for testing various pieces of bbq equipment and food products. With the equipment, once testing is done, it will be made available to those who are looking.

Up now will soon be two of the new models of Webber pellet grills. The Smoque and the Searwood. The Smoque is apparently intended to be a better choice for low and slow. The Searwood a better option for eliminating the need for both a smoker and a grill.

In comments is a video that compares the two. I bought the Smoque on sale at Home Depot and the Searwood at Lowes on sale also.

If anyone is interested in seeing these units or getting in line to purchase please send me a PM.

May is BBQ Month. All products at the Market are on sale. Including all Cookshack equipment. Great time to buy pellet and electric smokers, grills and Cookshack Food Products. Especially Fast Eddy Championship Rub.

Cookshack products will be the star of the show when Gold Medal Gold Medal BBQ-Iowa competes in Parkville, MO at a Rib Association sanctioned contest.

I am looking forward to trying a Spam Dog. I like Spam and this gives me the idea of using Smoked Spam as a sandwich filler. Similar to a what is done in the Carolinas with Chicken Tenders and called a Bird Dog. See link in comments.
