A little education for this who want it. When lacing leather, it’s best to wet both the leather and the lacing. When it dry, the lace will be nice and tight for many years to come.

The beautiful photos are what everyone sees.

What they don’t see is me sitting at my work area with a seam ripper in my hand wondering why I didn’t leave well enough alone.

I was working on a custom wallet to match a crossbody bag and made a mistake that I just couldn’t live with. So now I’m pulling out hand stitching and starting over.

That’s the reality of custom leatherwork. Sometimes things go perfectly, and sometimes you spend hours undoing hours of work.

The good news? My clients will never receive a piece that I’m not proud of. If it doesn’t meet my standards, it doesn’t leave my shop.

Perfectionist? Absolutely.

Stubborn? Maybe a little.
