Of the thousands of mesquite trees I see, this wood is from one of only two trees that have burls like this. Luckily this one was bulldozed into a pile years ago. The other is safe and still alive and well. 🌳🪴

Here is a large Mesquite bud vase dyed red with Keda Dye. Finished with satin wipe on urethane. Inside is finished with 2 coats of Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast so that it may hold cut flowers. Love the character in this wood.

This is an 11.5 inch tall vase made from a mesquite log😍

If you look toward the top middle, you can see a sort of “ripple” effect within the wood, this is known as quilting! It’s always amazing to me to see what individuality lies within each piece of wood, so beautiful!
