Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (Rtd), has blasted FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over his heated face-off with naval officers at a disputed land site in Abuja.

The viral video showed Wike exchanging words with uniformed officers who reportedly stopped FCT officials from demolishing structures said to belong to a top naval officer.

Reacting on Facebook, Buratai described Wike’s conduct as “dangerous and disrespectful to the Nigerian Armed Forces.” He warned that publicly insulting a military officer in uniform doesn’t just show bad behavior — it threatens national security and undermines the President’s authority as Commander-in-Chief.

Buratai stressed that the military thrives on discipline and hierarchy, and any attack on that structure can weaken morale and the chain of command. He cautioned that such actions could send the wrong message to officers across the ranks.
