I honestly don’t even know how to put this into words. Yesterday , my big brother, his girlfriend, and their babies lost their entire home in a grease fire. Within minutes, everything they owned was gone. They barely made it out with their lives and only have the clothes they were wearing when they ran outside. 💔
What makes this even harder to think about is what happened inside that house. Daniel is the one who rescued her daughter and Cordell her son from the fire. He tried to get out through the front door, but it was so hot he couldn’t even touch it and the smoke was thick. They had no choice but to escape through a window. I cannot stop thinking about how terrifying those moments had to be for all of them. By the grace of God, they made it out alive.
My brother is the type of person who would do anything for the people he loves, and last night proved that all over again. While their belongings can be replaced, the trauma and heartbreak of losing everything overnight is something no family should ever have to experience.
Right now, they are starting completely over from nothing. If anybody has anything they could donate — clothes, shoes, toiletries, blankets, household items, gift cards, or anything at all — it would mean more than you know. Even sharing this post could help reach someone who may be able to help.
