A 1961 Fender Jazzmaster in for electronics work, setup, and a missing headstock decal. The guitar was refinished at some point and the original decal was sanded off. Now she is ready to go with a new vintage correct decal.

A cool old Cromwell acoustic in for a broken tailpiece, cleaning, and setup. Cromwell guitars were made in the Gibson factory during the late 30's for catalog sales companies.The factory order number inside dates it to a 1937.

Ever wondered what a guitar would look like after being struck by lightning? Well, now you know.

A 1985 Gibson Les Paul Reissue was struck by lightning while stored in a room during a thunderstorm.

The incident, which occurred in 2013, involved a pine tree being split by lightning. The current then traveled through the house’s trim into the room where the guitar was kept. The lightning struck the guitar’s tuning pegs and traveled through the body, melting the strings and pickups and even blowing out the bridge saddles.

The strike clearly caused significant damage, melting parts of the hardware and electronics. The owner, named Hoyt, eventually listed the damaged guitar on eBay after deciding against repairing it, he decided to sell it as is.

Could the “lightning mojo” add to its value? Probably not.
