Public Notice: Data Center Zoning Review
Following today’s Board of County Commissioners meeting, the Moffat County Planning Commission will begin reviewing the County’s current Zoning Resolution and considering potential regulations related to data centers.
The first Planning Commission discussion will take place:
Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at 6:30 p.m.
Moffat County Courthouse- Commissioners Chambers
This meeting will mark the beginning of an ongoing review process. The Planning Commission anticipates holding several meetings and discussions on this topic before developing any recommendations. If you are unable to attend this meeting, there will be additional opportunities to participate and provide input.
Please keep in mind that the Planning Commission is a volunteer advisory board. Its role is to review information, hear public input, and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners. The Planning Commission does not make the final decisions regarding County zoning regulations.
Planning Commission members and County officials do not claim to be experts in the highly technical and rapidly evolving data center industry. The County is working to gather reliable information, hear from knowledgeable professionals and community members, and better understand the potential opportunities and impacts before making recommendations or decisions.
Community members are encouraged to submit comments in writing to ensure their complete thoughts, questions, and concerns are accurately documented. Written comments will be provided to both the Planning Commission and the Board of County Commissioners for consideration.
