His and hers. Morning coffee on the couch every single day. I love this habit that has emerged. The girls grew up, my business slowed down, and life has shifted from raising kids into full blown empty nester mode. And I’m here for it. I’ve become more of an early bird instead of a night owl. These soft, early mornings with my husband, coffee, and Jesus are just the best. Embracing this stage of life with my whole heart!

Happy day after Christmas! I hope your Christmas has been amazing.
Today I’m sitting on my front porch for just a bit - I love that it’s not freezing cold! It’s chilly, and I won’t stay out long but oh I’m so thankful to be outside in the fresh air. A goal this winter - take a walk/hike outside at least twice a month. So far I’ve met that goal but we’re only a couple months in. My husband gave me a pair of the cutest, warmest, rabbit fur earmuffs. My mom gave me new birky boots. My long down coat has come out of hiding. I’m determined! And we are keeping up the gym routine - moving more has changed my life in so many ways. I’m thankful and so very grateful. Praise JESUS, our King of Kings.

The stockings are hung - and mostly filled. I’ve been filling them as soon as they are hung for years now. I have a few more things to get to tuck in them but mostly they are ready for Christmas. It’s a little tradition that has become dear to my heart. Over the years some traditions happen so gradually and softly we don’t realize they are becoming traditions. What started as a way to keep track of the little trinkets I bought the girls (and remember whose was whose) became a tradition I still do today even though the girls are all out on their own and I have more room to store away Christmas gifts until the big day.

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m up early getting the crock pot stuffing going and then sitting in the glow of the tree. Reflecting on all the things I’m thankful for. At the top of the list is family and friends. I’ll gather with my family today and I’m looking forward to it. Thats a blessing I’m reminding myself not to take for granted.
My friends - oh how I’m thanking God for friends - those who come in when you need it most and fill the empty space. The ones whose default is to pray with you when life is hard. The ones who squeeze you in their busy schedule to make hard things easier to handle. The ones you can reach out to when you need help carrying the load. And then there are the ones who reach out to check up on you and make sure you are still standing - those get an extra star! In all of life, the good, the hard, the fun, the messy - I’m so thankful for family and friends who walk this journey with me.
