I’m not exactly tuned into pop music but with all the hubbub over Beyoncé’s country releases I thought I’d give em a spin. IMHO it’s alright it it won’t be on my regular playlist, characteristically I preferred the b side single 16 Carriages over the popular Texas Hold ‘Em hit; of course 😂 .
Black influence upon the roots of country music and for that matter every imaginable genre of modern American music goes largely ignored. Most folks think of country music is for red necks and wanna be cowboys. Thankfully less known living legends like Taj Mahal as well as international pop stars like Beyoncé are both around to challenge that paradigm.
Located in Nashville, TN, NMAAM is the only museum dedicated to preserving and celebrating the many music genres created, influenced, and inspired by African Americans.
