We are excited to start this new journey into leading a better life and adventure as we grow to learn the meaning of giving to others in need while doing what we love. State of Wild, aka SOW, is about exploring and using our God given talents to create and sell chic pieces as part of a way to give back to a community in need. Our inspiration stemmed from a young children's orphanage in Guatemala,

where our good friend Ana is serving. She recently moved there, the summer of 2014, in hopes of helping the young children living in poverty see hope and a better future for themselves. For every item purchased from our shop, a percentage of the proceeds will go to a Charitable Organization to help those less fortunate than ourselves, and towards Ana and her journey in Guatemala.

Juse here! Wanted to share a little intro and background story for those of you who are new to our shop🌺

Jess and I met back in 2011, I had just moved to OC from San Fran, needed a place to live and moved in with her and her family our first day meeting each other. She and my husband Landon knew each other prior through our church and were in the teen ministry together. Her family made me feel so welcomed and at home (had those Hawaiian roots in common), she became not only just a roommate, but my sister, BFF and a few months later my MOH and auntie to our first born Roman, then came Amoura, then Hudson😂 She is literally my DAY ONE.

In 2014, little to no experience, I got my first sewing machine (beginner/Singer). I started making little headbands, beanies and scarves for my Etsy shop I named “Roman + Amoura”. A year later, Jess came over one day inspired from an event she had attended and had an idea to make adult Turbands. She got her own sewing machine, we hit the LA fashion district for fabrics, got to sewing and then came up with the name “State of Wild” aka “SOW”. It started with us two and then we added our friends Nikole and Aleigh to our tribe shortly after. Currently it’s just Jess and I but we will always have a space for our OG tribe to come in and add to our collections or even just model or snap photos for us!📷

Several photoshoots, markets, pop ups + late night coffee sewing sessions later we are still here, hanging by a thread, literally😅. We have our ups and downs in the small biz world, but always go back to why we started SOW in the first place and being able to use our creativity to give back to those in need.

SOW is all about going back to your roots, recognizing and embracing who you are without the influence of the world. We are committed to using our talents and creativity to helping our local communities & organizations in the hopes of making a positive impact on those around us✨
