I am happy to announce that I have gotten the gift cleaned up after the flood and ready to re-open. Unfortunately due to cabin rental cleaning I still have no regular business hours, but will do my best to be open for holiday shopping. I will be closed from Nov 8 until the 15th due to knee surgery. But hope to heal quickly and be open again on the 16th.
I still have much to do to get the rest of it back in order but the gift shop is ready to go!
I will be open this weekend and most of this next week! I look forward to your visit!!

I know a lot of people are helping and donating and I would like to donate a few things as well. If you live in Cosby or Newport and are familiar with my gift shop, A Little Something Handmade, I have a few household items that are used but in good condition and clean, that I would like to donate to anyone in need.
Blankets, sheets, towels, pillows, bath rugs, a few quilts, etc.

I am not delivering. You would have to stop by the gift shop to look through it. I have things in bins. Being flooded out has prompted me to go through all I have and right now there is more than I will ever need again. Please if you are in need, call and then stop by.

Yesterday is a day I will remember for a very long time. I have lived along this creek for 9 years and have had a few close calls with the creek. This storm was devastating to my home and gift shop. A foot of water inside and so much personal loss. Piper and I are safe and many friends came to help with the clean up. It’s an on going process and will take a very long time to recover and be able to open the gift shop.
My heart goes out to all those that have been hit by this storm and are suffering its devastation.

I’m sorry to say the my little gift shop will be closed for quite a while. The storm damage flooded the building and much was lost. I will let everyone know when I am open again.

A Little Something Handmade has been closed for most of the past 2 years due to covid and my busy schedule in Cabin Rentals. Things there have slowed to a more manageable situation and I’m delighted to say the gift shop is open more often and my creativity has returned. I still have no consistent business hours but I am trying to be open at least 4 days a week.
I have been busy creating gemstone trees, river rock art, all kinds of home decor and of course my collectible bear figurines. Stop by and see what’s new! Holiday items are currently on sale up to 40% off.

A Little something handmade will be reopening on Thursday May 7th. We will be open to all but only 2-4 people in the shop at one time. If you have a mask we prefer you wear it. We look forward to seeing you all again this weekend!! Hours for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be 10 - 6. Permanent days and hours have not been set yet.

I wanted to let you all know that A Little Something Handmade recently agreed to carry a larger line of handmade natural soaps and body products made by Jan Lewis owner of Kulturology Soaps. We gave the gift shop a new look and we were all set to reopen earlier this month, then the Coronavirus became a bigger reality and we decided to postpone reopening. Unfortunately we do not have a date as of yet but we will keep you posted. We look forward to seeing our local & distant friends as well as the many people visiting the Smokies. I’m going to take this down time and create!

I don’t normally post things like this but something made me want to share today. I have had the great pleasure of meeting some of the most wonderful people that stop here at my shop. People from all over the country and beyond. I believe it was two weeks ago when this wonderful couple stopped in and spent hours along my creek chatting and stacking rocks. It was quite amazing to see the process and see them stand for as long as they can. Today, this was the result of a visit from them. Again they stayed for hours. It was a great way to spend part of my day. James and Chrissy thank you for filling my backyard with all these beautiful cairns and all the positive energy you convey.
