Still working on getting the proportions correct, but once I'm satisfied with the overall dimensions and how it fits the Tamiya kit, I'll get the sheet laid out and sent to print.

Due to issues that have nothing to do with the business, several previously announced sheets were put on indefinite hold. However, as things have gotten back to normal, all will be given the go ahead this week.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but in a few days, this page will be shut down and everything will be back on the original page, which is now Flying Leathernecks Scale Creations.

The reality is that it's just a bit too time consuming to try to manage both pages. While everything will be back to one location, the separation of FLSC (resin/masks/vinyl) and FLD (decals) remains.

Getting our references directly from the squadrons and conversing with the Marines in Corrosion Control, Maintenance Officers, XO's and CO's is what matters here.

Being first with a sheet isn't the priority and it never will be. Preserving Marine Aviation History and making sure everything is 100% accurate has been, is now, and will always be the only thing that's truly important.

After a 22 year career as an Ordnanceman, my connection to the Marine Aviation Community is personal. I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue to work with Marines in this endeavor.

As I begin the decal art for 312's Command Jet, just curious which you'd prefer.

Decals for all of the gunship gray areas, or masking templates so you can paint it yourself?

On Friday, Tanya and I drove to MCAS Beaufort to deliver a model I built to MAG-31. While there, I had an opportunity to photograph both command jets from VMFA-115, as well as the command jet for VMFA-312. My thanks to CWO Conner from 115 and Capt Williams from 312 for the flightline escorts. It was also nice talking to 115's CO, LtCol Waller, whom I had the pleasure meeting a couple years ago while visiting VMFA(AW)-533.

While I have the decal art drawn for the 115 Delta, it was evident that a few minor changes will be needed to make it 100% accurate. Once these changes are made, sheet FL48027 will be sent up the chain for approval, then sent to Microscale for a quote.

Oh, please stop calling specially painted Marine Corps aircraft 'CAG' birds. Unless they're on the boat, they're not CAG aircraft. They're simply called Command Jets or Color Jets/Birds. 😁

The changes coming to Flying Leathernecks Decals.

First, we will no longer be offering pre-orders for new sheets. While I used it to somewhat gauge how well a sheet may do, it did have it's downsides.

Sheets that were on pre-order (FL32009 and FL32010) are simply not listed at this time. Once they are received from Microscale, they will be uploaded to the USMC Patches web site https://military-and-le-patches.myshopify.com/ and the link to the ordering page will be uploaded on the FLD web site https://www.flyingleathernecksdecals.com/page/links-to-flying-leathernecks-decals-by-usmc-insignia-llc

All of our sheets will still be available from the usual sources (spruebrothers, squadron, etc.)

All of the sheets will now have a small holographic sticker on the back marking it as an officially licensed product.

That said, the next sheet up will be FL48024 Leatherneck Legacy Hornets II
