Awesome weekend ahead of us.
Slot red drum, spec trout, and jack cravelle have been active in the surf.
Wind gust will be under 15mph and sustained under 10 mph for the majority of the weekend.
Don’t pass this weekend up, it will be the best weather window we have had in a while.

Ever changing pressure systems will once again be mixing the forecast up for the weekend.
North winds Friday.
Saturday 🤷‍♂️ maybe east.. maybe south.. maybe north.
We can’t be certain.
Sunday should be great though.
The northern part of the state is dealing with salinity issues due to the excessive amount of rain and the southern part of the coast is experiencing some type of algy bloom or sticky organism overrun.
Can’t catch them from the couch though. Tight lines everyone!

Another front passed over the Texas coast last night.
We know that the changing barometric pressure can negatively affect the fishing for a couple days, fishing will likely be slow this weekend.
Strong northeast winds will cause north to south currents along the coastline, but the wind is predicted to drop off Sunday evening and switch back to the south early next week.

Water temperature is 79.3*F today 5/2/2024 in Aransas pass TX.
Notice the red circle around the dropping temperatures that followed last months cold front.
These dropping temperatures combined with constant changing of barometric pressure have slowed the spring fishing bite.
A slow climb back into the upper 70s has been taking place. Upper 70 degree water offers so much opportunity for a very wide variety of fish along the Texas coast.
Go get um before that temp gets too high, Good luck and tight lines!

No good news this week 😔.
Southeast winds Friday, Saturday, and Sunday…
25mph sustained, gust up to 40mph.
It will be a great reset for the coastline as these types of winds cause extremely strong currents that will change up the guts along the beach.
It should also clean up the driving conditions if we experience high tides.
Best to stay home and prep your gear for next weekend.

Probably the best weekend so far this year is closing in on us!
Water temperature is perfect, winds will be breezy but definitely manageable. (Slight chance of rain 30% in some areas)
If you have other plans cancel them.
Have to work call in sick.
Go wet a line this weekend.

The strong north winds have flattened out the surf.
Winds will switch back around and remain out of the south/southeast troughout the weekend.
This will be one of the best weekends so far this year for surf fishermen.
Get out there and get you some!

Southeast wind all weekend. Spring fishing is in full swing, Stringers full of Sheepshead are comming off the jetties, along with a mix of slot red and black drum.
Jacks, Spanish mackerel, king Mackerel, and Cobia will make there appearances very soon if they haven’t already.
Not many mullet reports from the surf yet, but when they show expect the most exciting feeding frenzy’s that you have seen since the fall.

Weather has been rough the last few days, but a great Saturday is just around the corner.
Low winds tomorrow and for the majority of the day Saturday will allow for great fishing opportunities. Just be sure to get out Saturday because the wind will kick up again Sunday.

A low pressure over the southern part of the gulf will cause a strong north wind over the water all day today and into tomorrow evening.
Saturday and Sunday will be much nicer with low wind speeds.
Expect a strong north to south current along the coast all weekend from these strong winds.

Swells caused by the srong south east winds this week will likely still be present all along the coastline all weekend.
Winds will switch from southeast to northwest sometime tomorrow. Saturday wind speeds should be minimal providing great fisihing opportunity.
