Our sweet and pink little spot in Old Town Cornelius has become a hub for all things inspired! In October of 2017 we opened our doors to host workshops for different mom groups. Since then we have expanded to weekly workshops with some of the most creative souls in the Charlotte Area and have the best time! We host baby showers, bridal parties, and crafty kid birthday parties and we love private w

orkshop like no other! Our retail space is home to small batch gifts and hand made items that are unique and made in house. Our flower bar pops up during holidays and special events where we get to share our love for all the pretty flowers, and our podcast reaches all over to inspires with stories of our own and of our talented friends! Basically, we embody what it means to be a true collective...a collective that believes in bringing community and creativity together in one sweet and pink space!

We have poured candles with guests of every age and every vibe at our candle bar in Cornelius NC and there is nothing we love more than watching a group walk in not knowing what they want and walk out completely obsessed with what they made.

I got awkward trying to hold it together on camera and I am posting it anyway because this story is the whole reason our little pink studio exists and it is time more people knew it!!

We talk about this stuff nonstop in our classes but it is time to start sharing it out here too. Clean candles, toxin-free home products, what is actually burning and hiding in the things you bring into your home. So we are just going to dive all the way in!!!

Because what goes into your home matters. What your kids are breathing matters. And you deserve to know exactly what is in every single thing you light, spray, and pour.

It is going to get nerdy. It is going to get sassy. And I genuinely cannot help any of this!!!

Confession time…
Hi, my name is Cory and I have a candle container addiction. 🙋🏼‍♀️

Every spring when our new vessels start arriving I tell myself the same thing:
“Cory, you absolutely do not need another candle for your house.”

And then something like this little beauty hits the shelves and suddenly I’m in the back pouring “just one for myself.” 😂

This one is filled with bergamot, beachwood, and sel de mar and it smells like that first warm day when you open the windows, the air feels crisp again, and you remember that spring is officially doing her thing!!

Also… can we talk about the container?!
The soft creamy glaze, the little scalloped edge, the vintage-meets-spring energy… she understood the assignment!!! And I can’t wait to style her in my house!

Fun fact: I am absolutely terrible at remembering to post all the cute containers we have in the studio (our shelves are literally overflowing right now), but every once in a while one stops me in my tracks and I have to show her off.

I was scrolling through my camera roll this morning looking for something totally unrelated and this photo from 2018 popped up. I took it in the studio almost eight years ago when Bells Box was still this tiny little idea with pink walls. Back then I was a bright eyed, bushy tailed little business owner who honestly had no idea what was in front of her… Covid, the ups and downs of running a small business, learning how to lead people, walking through infertility, becoming a mom, and raising a little boy while building something at the same time.

Seeing this photo made me pause for a sec.

Sometimes when I’m in the middle of cleaning up wax, ordering supplies, printing candle cards, restocking everything, scrubbing toilets and doing the thousand little things it takes to keep a small business running, I forget the bigger why behind this place.

Yes we pour amazing candles and yes we host parties and celebrations and the best nights, but the whole point was never really just candles. The point was always connection. Sitting around a table, laughing, talking, creating something with your hands, celebrating big things and small things and sometimes just getting out of the house for a couple hours.

With International Women’s Day here it’s also making me think about how every year as I grow in my womanhood, I feel like I understand more and more what it means to be a woman. The way we show up and the way we connect. The way we hold our families and our communities together. And right now it feels like women everywhere are carrying a lot… doing the hard work of caring for people, standing up for what’s right, raising good little humans, supporting each other and trying to keep a little light in the world even when things feel heavy. I see that strength and inspiration around our candle table all the time and it reminds me why I wanted to create this space in the first place. 💖

This little studio has held so many stories since this pic. Our pretty + clean candles are just the excuse. The real magic has always been the people sitting around the table inspiring each other. And today I’m just feeling really grateful for that!! happy IWD friends 🥰

If you had told me 10 years ago that one day I’d be running a tiny pink candle studio where thousands of people walk in as strangers and somehow walk out as friends, I would have laughed and said absolutely not. Yet here we are. And it’s the sweetest, wildest plot twist!!

Every year I watch this community grow. I see the same families showing up season after season ready to make their holiday candles like it’s their tradition now. I see women who sat at our bar as strangers now booking girls’ nights together. I see people who return eight years later just to pick up where we left off. And it hits me right in the heart. ❤️

And then there are the homes. The pretty and clean homes we get to be part of! The kitchens where our candles burn during dinner. The living rooms where our scents make everything feel calmer. The bedrooms that smell like...well iYKYK!!! The fact that our little creations get to live in your life? Magic. Straight-up magic!!

Of course I have to talk about my tiny assistant CEO. Jax listens to Jason and I brainstorm over dinner like he’s about to call a staff meeting. He knows exactly where his favorite scents are. He insists on “helping at work” like he’s about to be promoted to leadership. The boy is committed. 😍 He talks about the studio to strangers. And he will absolutely be running this studio by age twelve at this rate and honestly I am not fighting it.

And. Oh. my. Goodness. My girls!! The heartbeat of the pink studio. They keep this place sparkling and warm and welcoming. They pour candles and teach classes and soothe chaos (mostly mine 🤣) and hype people up and make every guest feel like they just stepped into a Hallmark movie with better lighting. I am back at my Nutcracker shenanigans so buckle up.

The amount of joy this six foot pink nutcracker brings me is unreal. And honestly, Jax loves him even more than I do which makes it that much more fun!! That child will look at me in the middle of June and ask where Mr. Bells is and when he is coming back. To him, Mr. Bells is basically a holiday roommate who just temporarily lives in storage. 🤣

So every year I unlock that storage unit and there he is, standing front and center like he has been patiently waiting for me. (And yes, of course I filmed it. And no, the storyline might not make perfect sense because I absolutely drove him there… and then made it look like he opened the door for himself. Just go with me on this. It is holiday magic on a budget and I am candle maker not a film maker, dang it 🤣l!!)

Anyhooo… He has been a staple at the studio for the last three years and people walk in asking about him before they even notice the candles. He is officially part of the Bells Box crew and he knows it.

And then there is this little piece that tugs my heart every season. Something about his pure white hair and big ol eyebrows gives me such strong Gil vibes. My dad has been gone for over a decade but having Mr. Bells around during the holiday hustle feels like having a tiny bit of my dad cheering me on through the long nights, being proud of what I have built and soaking up the glittery chaos and community. It is silly and sweet but it just feels good so I’m rolling with it!!

So here we are. Mr. Bells is officially back for the season and ready to bring a little pink magic to anyone who walks through the studio.
