What are 5 items that you would tell a new backpacker to bring with them? Here is our list!

1. Headlamp with extra batteries.
2. A sharp knife.
3. A way to cook food. (We suggest a lightweight stove!)
4. A lighter.
5. A small first aid kit. (We always bring lots of tape in ours!)

Of course if we adding a 6th and 7th items we would add a Cascade Wild table and cutting board! What items would you swap out or add?

When we created our table, we knew backpackers were going to absolutely love it. What we didn't know was that photographers were going to start going crazy for it too. Adventure photographers need a way to keep their gear up out of the dust and dirt without adding a lot of extra weight or space. The fix? Our ultralight folding table!

Thank you to all our photographer out there bringing us incredible photos of nature and wildlife. We're glad Cascade Wild can be a little part of your process!

Backpacking is a balancing game of how much to bring with you on the trail vs how much your pack weighs. Any items that are not essential to your trip are considered luxury items. A luxury item to one backpacker might be essential to another. What is considered essential vs luxury greatly differs based on the person, time of year, the location, how long the trek will be, etc.

What's your favorite luxury item to bring with you while on the trail?

Why purchase an ultralight table for your adventures? Because there are so many way to use them!

1. To get your gear up and out of the dirt and mud.
2. To have a surface to play cards and other games on
3. To slice and prepare food on, don't forget your cutting board to keep your table safe!
4. To prop up your tablet or laptop (at home or out and about!)
5. Snap 2 together to create a large flat surface.
6. Put your table on a downed log to make an elevated and stable
platform.
7. To find your campsite after dark by reflecting light off the reflectors.
8. As a pillow to take a nap.
9. As a splint in a first aid emergency.
10. Flip upside down and use as a tray inside your tent.

Did you know that we also sell ultralight cutting boards? Weighing in at only 0.5 oz for the smaller size and 0.7 oz for the larger one, these are great to have for any hike that may involve a little picnic! We designed this cutting board to be incredibly durable as a way to protect your table when slicing cheeses, fruits, filleting a freshly caught fish, or anything else you might want to cut on your adventures.
