🎉 Team Spotlight: Scott deMarrais – 9 Years 🎉

Q: What is your name?
Scott deMarrais

Q: What is your role at ETS?
Event Director

Q: How long have you worked at ETS?
Since May 2017

Q: What hobbies do you partake in outside of work?
In my free time, I enjoy golfing and fishing whenever I can. I'm also a 5-time chili champion with "Red Scott Chili Preppers" and love smoking briskets, ribs, turkey, and other meats. More recently, I've become known for creating a daily "ScottCuterie" board that's often the talk of the ETS lunchroom.

Q: What is your favorite ETS memory and why?
One of my favorite ETS memories was receiving a call from Kevin Gorman in early 2022, offering me the opportunity to return to ETS as the COVID pandemic subsided. After working two thankless jobs just to get by, I was grateful to come back to a company that had weathered such a challenging time. I returned as a Project Manager and later became an Event Director.

Q: What is your favorite part about working in the AV industry?
I got hooked on AV in 1989 after my baseball career ended. From loading trucks at 3 a.m. in New York City to traveling the world producing events, I've always loved that no two days are the same. The travel, challenges, and successes continue to make this industry exciting.

Q: Favorite sport and team?
Women's college volleyball has become my favorite sport. My favorite teams are the UT Tyler Patriots and the Mizzou Tigers. 🏐

Carly Sawford

Director of Accounting

Q: How long have you worked at ETS?
18 years

Q: What hobbies do you partake in outside of work?
In my free time, I love spending time with my family and friends. I love a good book, movie, or binge watching my favorite shows.

Q: What is your favorite ETS memory and why?
There are too many favorite ETS memories to count.

Q: What is your favorite part about working in the AV industry?
My favorite part about the AV industry is all of the awesome people I get to work with on the daily, and that I have met throughout the years!

Q: Favorite sport and team?
My favorite sports are volleyball and softball. My favorite teams are the Dallas Stars, Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Mavericks.

Q: What’s your role at ETS?
Head of Audio Department

Q: How long have you been with ETS?
10 years (but first worked an ETS show 12 years ago as a local technician at the Milan Convention Center in Italy)

Q: What do you enjoy outside of work?
Traveling, playing guitar, listening to music, watching movies, and reading

Q: Favorite ETS memory?
I’ve got a lot, but I met my boss and my wife on the same ETS show… so I think that counts.

Q: Favorite part of the AV industry?
Constant learning + traveling—being somewhere new and tackling different challenges every show

Q: Favorite team?
Wasn’t big into sports, but became a Dallas Stars fan after catching a few games live ⭐️

Q: What do you enjoy outside of work?
Going to the gym, reading psychological thrillers, spending time with family & friends, hanging with my cat, trying new recipes, patio days in nice weather, concerts, and anywhere with a beach 🌊

“Being hired full-time and welcomed into the ETS family. I’ll forever be grateful.”

“When everything comes together, and a show is successful, it’s an amazing feeling of accomplishment. Plus, the people I work with make it fun.”

Q: Favorite team?
Not a huge sports fan… but the Cowboys have hurt my feelings more than a few times 😂
