Alaska Troutfitters was started in 1984 by Legendary Fly Fisherman and River Guide Curt Trout Muse. Curt’s undying passion in life was teaching others the joy and wonder of fishing the Kenai River and its surrounding areas. Through his years, Curt innovated and pioneered Fly Fishing techniques for the Kenai River and beyond. His skills with a fly rod and his drive to teach others was unequaled. In October of 2005, Curt Trout passed away fishing on the River he loved so much. Thousands of anglers will never forget the impact Curt had on their lives, and his legacy will forever live on in their hearts and experiences on the river. Alaska Troutfitters today is the embodiment of Curt’s spirit and passion. Owned and operated by dedicated and passionate anglers who mentored under Curt Trout for over a decade, it is our goal to share Curt’s wisdom and camaraderie with each and everyone of our guests. We would like to welcome you to our home and look forward to sharing with you the magic of the Kenai River.
