Save the date...Saturday, September 19th Cook Forest State Park will be hosting America's 250 Living History Cast Iron Cooking. Experience a special immersive experience at the Indian Cabin Colony by the Tom's Run fishing pond. The entire area will be transformed into a living history venue featuring state park educators from around the PA Wilds and skilled demonstrators showcasing cast iron cooking inspired by their respective parks.
Guests will step back in time as interpreters in authentic French & Indian War and late 1800s period attire bring history to life through demonstrations, storytelling, and hands-on activities. Adding to the atmosphere, local historians will perform period music throughout the event, creating an engaging and educational celebration of our region’s rich heritage.

It's easy ... come inside to select a bag of mining rough, then proceed to the mining trough. Wash the rough and have fun discovering what is inside!
