It was a struggle all day yesterday and really all week. Huge thanks to Northwoods bait and tackle for all the bait this week, Timbuktu for the last min repair and Norsk Lithium to ensure I did t run out of juice all day.

Tina and I had a good day on the water even with putting the first walleye in the box at 10:30am. Congrats to our other team for place 6th Ryan Berger and Brian Murphy.

Thanks to Timbuktu Marine for getting the Ranger Boats loaded with Garmin Marine products and the WavePro’s made the windy day easier. Northwoods Bait & Tackle Cook, MN for all my bait needs and tackle. Thank you all again.

🚨Signup Announcement🚨

We have not one, but TWO, signups started for some amazing, opening week/weekend, fishing on beautiful Lake Vermillion! We are headed back to see our good friends at Whispering Winds Resort to spend opening week in Minnesota chasing everything Lake Vermillion has to offer.

There are two trip signups for this event:

First signup is for opening weekend,
May 9th to May 12th

Second signup is for midweek the same week,
May 13th to May 15th

As always all amenities will be taken care of for our nations heroes, all we ask is you have a valid Minnesota fishing license, and be able to provide transportation to and from the event.

Head over to www.fishingwithvets.org to get signed up for this amazing opportunity under the events tab. We use a ticketing software to sort our applications, you will receive a confirmation saying “you’re going” and a ticket. These are just confirmations that your application was received. Each application is for one person only! Those chosen for this trip will receive an email on or around April 29th from the trip planner and further communication will follow.

We appreciate everyone’s patience once the signups for these trips close. We get our communications out as fast as possible. A friendly reminder; we are a 100% volunteer organization and try to get everything done in a timely manner as soon as our schedules allow. We try for 48 hours, but sometimes life gets in the way.

Whether you’re a seasoned boater or just getting started, this interactive training experience puts you at the helm, guiding you through real-time navigation, sonar interpretation, and system customization, all on your boat. Some topics we will go through on your boat:
• How to optimize your chartplotter and sonar settings
• Using GPS and mapping tools for safe navigation
• Advanced features like ActiveCaptain, and software updates.
• Integration with trolling motors and onboard systems

2 and 4 hour sessions available, 9 year experience with Garmin products on my boats over those years.
