If you've ever wanted to hold a piece of genuine 15th-century English history, this is about as close as it gets without breaking into the Royal Armouries.

The Windlass IX.144 Falchion is a hand-forged replica of the original sword in the Royal Armouries Collection, a late medieval English infantry hanger carried by billmen and archers during the Wars of the Roses. Think Towton. Think Bosworth. This is what those men carried into battle.

What makes this piece special isn't just the provenance, it's the engineering. The S-curve knuckle bow and reverse guard were purpose-built for bare hands or light gloves, not gauntlets. The hollow-ground blade, narrow fuller, and distal taper make it remarkably light and fast for its era. At just under 2 lbs with a 27" blade, it handles like a dream.

1080 high carbon steel. Hand forged. Hardened to 52–54 Rockwell. Comes with a leather-covered wood sheath, brass chape, and certificate of authenticity.

This is a sword that rewards the people who actually study the history behind it. Pick one up for yourself at https://bit.ly/4wzZ1u3

June’s calendar is packed.

Across the U.S. and beyond, Renaissance festivals, Celtic gatherings, Viking events, and historical fairs are in full swing. Some are massive multi-weekend productions. Others are smaller events known mainly through word of mouth, reenactment circles, and longtime attendees.

For collectors, reenactors, educators, craftspeople, and history enthusiasts, this season offers something harder to find elsewhere: the chance to experience history as something tangible. Not just something observed, but something worn, carried, built, and shared.

We pulled together a broad June 2026 event list to help with planning, road trips, and discovering a few events that may not already be on your radar.

If there’s a June event known for authenticity, craftsmanship, or strong historical immersion, share it below so more people can discover it.

Most people recognize the name. Very few know what she actually did. Joan of Arc was a 16-year-old peasant girl who showed up to a military garrison with nothing but conviction and asked to lead an army. She was turned away. She came back. And eventually she got through.

What followed was a military campaign that should not have been possible. She broke a months-long siege at Orleans. She crossed enemy territory alone. She identified a king hiding among his own courtiers. She took a wound in battle and kept fighting.

And when she was finally captured and put on trial at 19 years old, she faced her judges without counsel, without defense, and without breaking.

She was executed on May 30, 1431. Twenty-five years later her conviction was overturned. Nearly 500 years after her death she was declared a saint.

Most people know the name. Far fewer know the full story.

Joan of Arc was a 16-year-old peasant girl from a tiny French village when she walked into a military garrison and asked to lead an army. She was turned away. She came back. And eventually, against every odd imaginable, she got through.

What followed was one of the most remarkable military and spiritual campaigns in recorded history. She broke a months-long siege at Orleans. She pushed an uncrowned king to his own coronation. She rallied a fractured country around a cause that had looked completely lost.

And then she was captured, tried by a tribunal that had already decided her fate, and executed at 19 years old.

Twenty-five years later her conviction was overturned. Nearly 500 years after her death, she was declared a saint.

And yes, on the surface, it might look like two people hitting each other with swords. But there’s more going on here than most realize. Technique. Control. Timing. A tradition rooted in centuries of martial practice and discipline. It’s not just action. It’s history in motion.

Share this with someone who understands the difference.

Some pieces are collected. Others are kept. This Knights Templar inspired sword reflects a time when weapons carried purpose beyond the battlefield. Engraved with Christus Vincit. Christus Regnat., it speaks to the faith, discipline, and brotherhood that defined the Order.

Hand forged from high carbon steel by skilled smiths, this blade is built for balance, durability, and presence. The inset coin pommel, leather wrapped grip, and fully matched scabbard and belt complete a piece that feels as substantial as its history.

For those who appreciate craftsmanship and the weight of the past, this is more than a display. It is a statement.

At just 15 years old, Eleanor of Aquitaine became the most powerful heiress in Europe. She went on to become Queen of France and later Queen of England. She traveled on crusade, influenced culture, and helped rule an empire that stretched across nations. She was not a background figure in history. She stood at the center of it. She was a strategist, a patron of the arts, and a political force in a time when women were rarely given a voice, let alone power.

Even after imprisonment, she returned to lead, govern, and shape the legacy of kings like Richard I. Her story is one of resilience, intelligence, and lasting influence. Stay with us for Part 2, where we explore the life of Empress Theodora.

At just 15 years old, Eleanor of Aquitaine became the most powerful heiress in Europe.

She went on to become Queen of France and later Queen of England, placing her at the center of two of the most influential courts of the Middle Ages.

She did not remain on the sidelines. She rode on crusade, influenced culture, helped build a dynasty, and played a direct role in the politics that shaped Europe.

Even after years of imprisonment, she returned to power in her sixties, acting as regent and holding the kingdom together during critical moments.

Her story is one of strategy, resilience, and influence in a time when power was rarely handed to women.
