I have Mr. Gabby out every week to mow, and have for 11 summers now. I have Mr. Craig out every 3 weeks for extermination prevention. I have wasps under the deck. I was going to pull my deck off last night because I was so upset with those flying knives. I sprayed with my citric acid because they hate that and it’s food safe in guest areas. This morning, I’m gearing up. Mr. Craig is on the job and we’re choosing violence.

2 things hit me at once this week.

1. The manufacturer sent new ice bags with pin-size holes in them. They leaked all in my freezer and I had to thaw it and re-freeze. I now dry every bag before I put it in the frame.

2. One of my sweet guests has a lot of social media followers and they all came to try our snow.

I probably could have stayed open if one or the other happened. But both occurred at the same time and I failed miserably. Ran out of ice.

The Fix: I'm starting up my second freezer. So I'll have 70 blocks per day instead of 35.

I'll climb in that freezer and thaw it with my hair dryer next time instead of letting it thaw and re-freeze. I don't have time for that thawing and re-freeze time.

I love seeing the social media posts. Please keep doing that. Everyone is so happy!!! (Except that guy who was mad and gave me a 1-star review for being closed. He was big-mad.) Bummer, but expected.

I will also be putting my retainer back in the case instead of on the table when I eat.

Loads of lessons this week. It's all figureoutable.

I'll be ready tomorrow with my 19 degree blocks. I learned a business lesson: "Trust, but verify."

Not my favorite lesson so far. 😵‍💫

On a happy note, I got my braces off. Found my retainer and have the best neighbors in Dr. Fullerton and Team. Thanks for my straight smile, you guys! Fullerton Orthodontics

Meet Cole. Cole was with me from high school to grad school. Cole was my right and left hands. I really miss him today. I miss everyone else too, but I really miss this guy. I have to worry more and manage more without him here and it's a giant pain. Adulting is hard. Cole, if you see this, I'm cheering you on, but I wish you were still a teenager today. I also lost my retainer. So there's that.
