Hello, friends of Just Trains!
I dropped the ball and completely missed an important milestone for our store.
On March 10, 1986, Joan Saunders changed the business name from Rara Avis ("Rare Bird") to Just Trains. That means we're celebrating 40 years of Just Trains!
Joan told me that when the store was called Rara Avis, people would often call looking for birds or asking about car rentals. Her response was always, “No, we are just trains!” The name stuck, and the rest is history.
Thank you to all of our customers, friends, and fellow train enthusiasts who have been part of this journey over the past 40 years. We appreciate your support and look forward to many more years of sharing our love of trains with you!

Good morning folks! Just Trains is tackling the last of the storage units we have been using to store stock for the last year and a half. It’s a bit of a mess so bare with us as we keep settling into the new spot. The back room will have limited access today.
